Subwoofer rumble issue
Hi PaulI just added a Clearaudio Ovation to my system this week and I to am having some feed back issues. Needless to say I am very disappointed, but it is what it is. Mine seems to be feeding back approximately at 30hz and 120hz at volumes rangin...
Types of speakers to create nightclub style sound?
My thought would be that if you want to bathe the room in sound you need to understand the dispersion pattern of your speakers and then place the speakers strategically through out the room to achieve the amount of coverage that is desired. The ad...
Turntable cost:benefit
The correlation of price of a turntable and the amount of records one owns is zero. The correlation of price of a turntable and the level of sound quality one wants to achieve is everything.

Once again I want to thank everyone whom have responded. All information is greatly appreciated.I will be entering an internet black hole for the next two weeks but will check back in after that to see if there have been anymore updates.I have to ...
Slight Hardness on LP's
I also agree with @onhwy61.I suspect your source material. The stage microphones are designed to reject sound that doesn't originate directly in front of the mic and especially that which originates from the rear of the mic such as applause. Also ...
Electrical interference questions for speaker cable and adjacent subwoofer power cord
I think the vibrations of the subwoofers in your main speaker cabinet will be a bigger issue than electrical interference from your power cables. Plus the optimal location of the subs in your room may not be the same as the optimal location for yo...

Why HiFi manufacturers don't make active crossovers anymore?
I prefer an active crossover. Adding one to my system was one of the biggest improvements I made. The clarity of the system improved immensely and I am able to play it at a much higher volume if I choose to since the mid/hi amps are not being suck...
Very small room systems and synergy
+1 on the acoustical treatments.I also like the TuneTots but are definitely out of your budget.
Searching for matching(?) Subwoofer solution
Thanks Tim,You did answer my question. With as good as a DBA system is, there still will be only one sweet spot in the room. This is what I figured but I wanted to make sure that I wasn't missing something.
Searching for matching(?) Subwoofer solution
Duke, Thanks for the reply.I need to re-ask my first question since I wasn't clear. Since a DBA system can evenly distribute low bass evenly to all parts of a room are you also able to distribute the mids and highs evenly to all parts of the room ...
Searching for matching(?) Subwoofer solution
Hleeid,Before you do anything I would suggest reading http://www.soundoctor.com/whitepapers/subs.htm I think you will find them very informative.A question for the DBA folks; How do you get the mids and highs to spread out evenly through the room ...
AMP or Preamp
I really like the way my Wilsons sound using Atma-Sphere MA-1 mono blocks which I found used, in your price range. I have also heard Wilsons powered by ARC Ref 150 and that also was a great match.I do not own Sashas so if you do decide to look at ...
Balanced vs RCA between amp/preamp
The single biggest improvement I ever made to my system was when I switched from RCA cables to XLR balanced but I am not using Marantz gear I am using Atma-Sphere so YMMV.
Upgrading sub to get a live feel.
I agree with a lot of what has been said but in my experience ported subs for music reproduction is a no-no. Using ported subs can create phasing issues. You will hear thick rich low end but will loose punch and clarity, specially if your main spe...
