Bookshelf dilemma
Sonus Faber Lumina 1....port is on bottom, great for actual Bookshelf placement. $899 and look stunning.
Too Much Power
My pure class A 30 watts seems plenty for my needs..runs hot even at 30 watts, at least I know it’s on or working. 😁
Fed rate increase = lower hifi prices?
My property taxes have never gone "down"....always go up....someone already said it, seldom to prices come back down once they have gone up....unless it's on sale, which is rare in the hi-end segment. In fact, it is uncommon to even receive a disc...
No frills speaker manufacturers
Why not go for beautiful looks, at least to me, and build quality. Buy a pair of Tannoy Legacy or Prestige speakers. Their speakers look bespoke, will be a heirloom, and you are buying into the history of one of the oldest, if not the oldest speak...
OK, so seriously, what is up with TMR's pricing here??
I fail to see the issue or strangeness, maybe it's me....I'd be more concerned about the quality of the item, how many miles on it, how many owners, the condition. Who cares if it's a buck over a 100 or 500 or whatever.
Tubes getting hard to come by?
I only buy low power preamp tubes such as 12ax7's....these seem plentiful.
Large room with low budget for speakers
Lol, not me....that's a ton of dough to have on hand just for speakers, life must be good...
Audiophiles on Audiogon.
I only paid $249 (on sale from $299) for a musical fidelity v90 dac. It’s wonderful. The Border Patrol @ $1075 is also wonderful. No need to spend thousands for something of quality that Actually sounds good. Prior to buying, I did not look at one...
What's with all the new colored vinyl?
It’s because most of this new vinyl is being bought up by kids/teens...they like flashy colored vinyl...I can’t say that I have not bought some, not many. I generally stick to buying older vinyl, sometimes still sealed, mostly in VG+ condition. I ...
Suggestions for a Phono Preamp.
Musical Fidelity Lx2 Lps....has both capacitance and resistive loading plugs, mm and mc settings, and a rave review at WhatHiFi.  https://www.whathifi.com/musical-fidelity/lx2-lps/review
The past meets the future
Vinyl just plain sounds better when done right. My 2 cents, and only my darn opinion....😁
Class A or Class D solid-state amplifiers (modern designs)
You owe it to yourself to listen to a Sugden A21, pure class A solid state.
objective vs. subjective rabbit hole
In the end, you buy equipment to impress yourself audibly, visually, and viscerally, within your set budget constraints. It is you that ultimately must be happy with the end result of components gathered and interconnected. To base a purchase sole...
Internal DAC quality vs external DAC's
You do not want anything all in one chassis...dacs are susceptible to noise and vibration, and can interfere with the amp/preamp signal (integrated amp) causing noise. I like to keep my integrated amps all analog. Best to keep it external, plus da...
Does Having the Turntable Grounded Through the Right RCA Effect Sound Quality?
No, ground is ground. It is either grounded or it is not. The extra ground wire or terminal is doing the same thing, grounding. The only detriment to not grounding is hum or buzz....if it is not doing that, then you are properly grounded. Ground d...
