I'm putting to rest worrying about sibilance I tend not to believe those that state they hear zero sibilance on ANY recording through their system. Either their system rolls off the highs, has a subdued midrange or they have discovered something a large majority have not. Again, three differ...
I'm putting to rest worrying about sibilance Yes the ronstadt recording is awesome! I got it at a small used record shop in Boston and it appeared unplayed for only $2.99! I mean of course you can hear her pronounce "s" sounds and so forth, but they dont sound overly harsh or like "sh" or "s...
I'm putting to rest worrying about sibilance Hi noromance, to clarify, no I don’t get sibilance on everything I play. It is here and there. But on the records I do get it on, ie julie london recordings (not all), I take those particular pressings and play them on all 3 tables to keep myself ...
I'm putting to rest worrying about sibilance I dont have too many duplicates, but yes I have heard really aweful pressings and then a really rather nice pressing of the very same record...quality control issues maybe...idk. I find that the older, and when available original copies sound best...
Recommnedation for the BEST SOUNDING integrated amp up to $3500 Marantz pm14s1, 90 watts 8 ohm, 140 watts 4 ohm. Price $2999 new if u can find one.....or marantz pm 15s1 used. Great amps with a warm non fatiguing sound. Honestly, the pm8006 will shock you at only $1199! Its great!. All of these lack any kind o...
What a sad world we now live in....... No coltrane1....you are not alone. Most music made today imo sucks! I'll take the old standards any day. Most new pressings suck too, you cant beat the older vinyl, those engineers knew what they were doing back then and they seemed to care. Unles...
What a sad world we now live in....... With the right equipment, and not necessarily the most expensive, you cannot beat or duplicate analog sound reproduction, ie LP’s. There is just something inherently special and warm about playing a well recorded record. I mostly own and play olde...
Best mid priced Amp-Preamp Marantz pm14s1 integrated, if you can still buy one, getting hard to find brand new. A second for the rogue sphinx v2...on the more economical side, the new marantz pm8006 is a nice amp as well at only 1200.
What a sad world we now live in....... I’ll stick with Cd’s and LP’s thanks. I like the look, feel, and sound of physical media, but that is just me. I dont like the modern way of listening. It’s just as easy for me to get off my lazy ass and put in a cd or a record....and I personally...
Speaker of the Century Award Goes To .... The wharfedale diamond 230's are a 2.5 way speaker that received numerous positive 5 star reviews from 2 or 3 publications. At only 600 bucks on discount a steal!
Recommendations for bookshelf speakers I personally would not screw around with The wharfedale speakers, to me they sound terrific just the way they were designed. I like to leave the sound signature to the designer, as I'm not one.
Recommendations for bookshelf speakers I've mentioned these speakers before....here it goes...wharfedale diamond 225's. They have to be heard to be believed, for just $449 I don't think they can be beat for an honest sounding audiophile speaker. A touch of warmth, non fatiguing, unbeli...
Reasonable but not outragious interconnects Chord c-line interconnects or atlas elements interconnects. I own both and they seem of very high quality....I am partial to british made stuff though....either one can be bought for 65-75 bucks for a 1 meter pair (3 feet). If you want to go one s...
Bookshelf Recommendations Maybe, seeing that you are familiar with the wharfedales, you should have a listen to the 225’s? They are far better than the diamond 111’s. I would not dismiss a speaker based solely on what it costs, these 225’s are a real bargain imo, and a ste...
Ugh....dropped the stylus on the platter Noromance, lmao! |
