Nottingham Spacedeck vs Rega Planar 8 vs Technics SL1200G
essrand:Glad I could offer something to the conversation that you found useful. I did just listen to a SP10R in an Artisan Fidelity plinth with a Schroeder CB1-L arm :) that was quite nice. The bearing only had about 300 hours on it and I’ve found...

Joegator81:No sweat.
Nottingham Spacedeck vs Rega Planar 8 vs Technics SL1200G
Joegator81:I don’t really have anything against the Kiseki, I just found it a little to soft and warm for my taste. I can definitely see how this cartridge can work in some systems. I think it works well with my buddies rig because his table, the ...
Nottingham Spacedeck vs Rega Planar 8 vs Technics SL1200G
Essrand:I own the AMR DP 777se and owned a SL1200 GAE for two wonderful years. I understand your point, a DP 777/ DP 777 se can make lesser analog rigs a waste of time. I had them both maxed out and ran the following cartridges on the GAE, London ...
SPL Phonos Phono Preamp
Tasos1:Just took a look at the back of the Phonos to be sure of the fuse rating. It is a T 1A L250V for a 115v environment. A 230v spec’d Phonos would of course see the fuse current rating drop by half.
SPL Phonos Phono Preamp
Tasos1:You’re welcome, if if I recall it is 1A for 120v.
SPL Phonos Phono Preamp
Tasos1:You will notice quite a tick up in performance with better fuses in the path, it uses two. I would start out with two AMR fuses as they are inexpensive (and the second best I’ve heard). I had the Synergistic Blues but found them a bit hyped...
SPL Phonos Phono Preamp
Lewm:If you can’t hear the difference a better circuit conduit makes while carrying the entire electrical signal then by all means keep the stock fuse. I also believe interconnects and power cords that carry electrical power make a difference, a H...
SPL Phonos Phono Preamp
My AMR is for the Ortofon MC Anna, the Luxman is for the ART 1000, Ana Mighty Sound 103.3 and Myajima Zero. The Phonos is for the London Reference. Sometimes I mix it up with the Anna sticking strictly to the AMR.I’m planning to add the new Ana Mi...
SPL Phonos Phono Preamp
Tasos1:I attempted to inform some people about this unit earlier in 2018. It’s one of the finest I’ve ever heard. I was looking at one of the ARC phono stages ($14k) and I saw this unit. Listened to them in the same system and to my ears the SPL s...

cjaronica:If you don’t mind my asking, what is your $7k stage? Only asking to put your comments about the PH10 into some type of perspective. Thanks

Geek101:My pleasure.
On the fence about Vinyl need a good phono stage for A/B testing
Geek101:you wrote:”Or what is "the" cartridge for Luxman EQ-500 to be worthy?.”I am not the arbiter for such things :) I think my Ana Mighty Sound modified Denon 103r (103.3) sounds much better with it. The Audio Technica ART 1000 simply sounds su...
On the fence about Vinyl need a good phono stage for A/B testing
Geek101:yes, that’s correct. They usually hurt the sound of systems, regardless of what the manufacturer claims. There are threads on this forum where this is discussed in great detail. I usually replace switching power supplies with linear power ...
