Wireless to Ethernet Adapter for DAC
I sell a WIFI to wired Ethernet adapter with hot-rodded Hynes LPS that sounds virtually identical to wired Ethernet. In addition, I highly recommend these between the adapter and the DAC:1) 0.5m Wireworld Platinum Ethernet cable to the isolator2) E...
Are DAC's overpriced?
Looking for a DAC based on the chip is fraught with problems.  SQ is  more affected by the implementation than the chipset.I did a shootout of several chips a few years ago and I didn't like the switched-capacitor sound of the AKM chips.  The only...
Going to try digital
Change the Wireworld silver cables to copper with silver plating.  That will save a lot of money.  Not as analog, but very good.
Advice needed: am I going in the right direction?
One thing that is now not that clear for me, is there any difference between a cheap DAC and an expensive one, except for some noise that could be present in a low-priced ones and amount of outputs? Will they produce the same signal for the amplif...

Dragonfly is a good start.  If you want something that is even used at high-end shows, get the Sony HAP-z1es. Maybe get one used on Audiogon or ebay.Steve N.Empirical Audio
Going to try digital
I don’t have a high-end stereo yet and will soon install a Raspberry Pi as a cheap streaming server. Those can be found for < $100 but you may need some technical knowledge to set it up.Been there, done that.  The Digione card is pretty good, e...
Going to try digital
In a setup where Roon core runs on a noisy PC, connects thru ethernet to a Cisco wifi router, and the optimized audio PC receiving from Roon on HQP also connects thru ethernet to the Cisco, would you recommend using just one EMO-EN70e at the audio...
Does a DAc that Reclocks Remove Jitter from Sonos Connect
In simple terms, digital jitter in an actual music recording or digital stream is virtually inaudible except under very rare circumstances.https://hydrogenaud.io/index.php/topic,109948.0.htmlNonsense and misinformation.  I would never have been ab...

Does a DAc that Reclocks Remove Jitter from Sonos Connect
If @audioengr’s measurements are accurate, the SONOS Connect has 9ns of jitter (which I see in the table on the graph, but then for his product, I see it reading 70psec and not 7psec, so not sure), and if your DAC does not jitter reduction, 9ns tr...
Does a DAc that Reclocks Remove Jitter from Sonos Connect
I have been on fence for a while to try the Wyrd4sound mod. Not sure if it would improve the SQ even if jitter is eliminated at its source. I modded digital component for 10 years before I started designing my own components. There is NO WAY to ge...
Does a DAc that Reclocks Remove Jitter from Sonos Connect
My Reimyo DAP-777 does reclock. So.. does the Sonos mod add anything?I doubt it.  You need really low jitter to hear a significant difference.A good test is to try different sources playing the same track or change the S/PDIF coax cable.  If you h...
Does a DAc that Reclocks Remove Jitter from Sonos Connect
If you say most DAC’s with internal reclockers also benefit from the lower jitter input signal.....then wouldn’t it better to use Wyrd4Sound internal mod for Sonos Connect? I doubt it. I have many customers with Sonos mods that added my Synchro-Me...
Does a DAc that Reclocks Remove Jitter from Sonos Connect
Here is the directly measured jitter from a Sonos connect:https://www.audiocircle.com/index.php?topic=154310.0 Any reclocker will reduce this jitter and improve the SQ, the question is: How much? Most DAC’s with internal reclockers also benefit fro...
Are DAC's overpriced?
FORTUNATELY, before I pulled the trigger, I got to hear my system via a prototype coax (not at liberty to say whose) but the cable was TRANSFORMATIVEThis is simply jitter reduction, and probably not much of it. If you think that is good, try a re...
