What Class D amps will drive a 2 ohm load This statement is false. The ability to double power as load impedance is halved has nothing to do with how well the amp will play bass Of course it does when it demands current into low impedance to do it, get over it.! George, the quote above...
Impact of phase inversion by preamp George Louis the Polarity Pundit debunked himself in our room at CES about 10 years ago. He walked in, claimed our system was out of phase, so I said OK- here its in phase then and clicked the switch. Then he claimed you couldn't hear it on LP, so...
static Issues...anybody know why? Geoffy the Static Troll: “(never get into tecknical argumints )”Ummm Geoffy, hel-loo, rpt, hel-loo, grab a dictionary! The word “technical” doesn't have a 'k' in it, and 'mint' is a thing you eat, although not after 'argu'. Get on the English li...
Advice on SUT for Koetsu Rosewood - EAR MC-4, Slagle/EMIA, other My system is a Koetsu Rosewood Signature (.4mv), Jelco 850M on a Sota Star Sapphire, Berning all-tube bespoke capacitance coupled preamp (46 dB gain on the MM stage, Jensen transformers on the moving coil stage), Quicksilver v4 monos, Verity Audio...
What Class D amps will drive a 2 ohm load just if they don’t try to double from 8 to 4 to 2ohm, you won’t get the very best out of them, they will be compromised in the bass, if you don’t mind that that go ahead. This statement is false. The ability to double power as load impedance is h...
Impact of phase inversion by preamp You seem to support my assertion that 50% of all recordings are in absolute polarity. Thus the need for a polarity (phase) switch.
Otl's with AvantGarde Duos? Alan, you could answer that easily enough by removing half of the power tubes in the amps. That would simulate the S-30 to a great degree. Its been too many years since I heard the combination myself, but IIRC the S-30 does fine on the Duo.
What Class D amps will drive a 2 ohm load So what am I not being told?:) Apparently you're *not* being told that the amp won't work...And FWIW, if the amplifier has a low enough output impedance, it will act as a voltage source even with a 2 ohm load. It **does not** have to double power...
Impact of phase inversion by preamp I meant that I marked polarity on the jacket, not that the LP itself was marked. OK- that makes more sense. I forget most of the details now, except some discs were inverted polarity relative to others, verified with an oscilloscope. How did you d...
What Class D amps will drive a 2 ohm load I've mentioned before, we're not using anyone's modules. It seems that what you aren't getting is that comparitors (a kind of chip or circuit used in many class D amps) can be unstable if used with high input impedances. To prevent oscillation, low...
Impact of phase inversion by preamp For a long time, LPs were marked as to preferred polarity. They encompassed the full gamut of recorded music from Pop to Opera.Could you name one? I have a lot of titles in my collection and don't recall ever seeing that. The manual for my lp cutt...
What Class D amps will drive a 2 ohm load Here is the comments from a manufacturer of these Purifi’s Class-D amps when I queried him on the unnecessary low 2.2k input impedance. I think it could be because of the use of bjt input stage instead of fet, I’ve yet to suss that one out. Ye...
speaker impeadance question An amplifier having "constant power" aka "constant wattage" characteristics will, for a given input voltage, tend to deliver less output voltage at frequencies for which speaker impedance is low, and more output voltage at frequencies for which...
Impact of phase inversion by preamp Nonsense.I polarity tested and corrected all the microphones.I verified all the lines and electronics.I made the recordings. Some recordings were M-S, X-Y, spaced pair and some multi-mic.Synthesizers are easily polarity checked with a sawtooth wave...
What Class D amps will drive a 2 ohm load WHY!! they keep making low input impedance amps these days is beyond me, go back to 48k (the once recognized industry standard) or even 100k like it used to be with tubes, makes for a whole better range of preamps ,tubes SS or passive able to d... |
