Power regenerator vs conditioner
Yes- although its possible to use ferro-resonant transformers to regulate line voltage, they also introduce harmonics and they can be pricey too  if one of the lower distortion models. I've really not seen a decent conditioner that didn't have a l...
Are Preamplifier’s Relevant Today or just a Hinderance with Digital Playback ?
So you are saying that running through a bunch of resistors, transformers and caps, to say nothing of connectors and extra sets of wire/wire's doesn't colour the sound by comparison to running direct?? I mean really??Yes. There is such a thing ...
Tube amp for falcon ls35a gold badge
One of our employees owned the original BBC version of the LS35/a. They worked really well with our smallest amp, the S-30, which is triode and OTL. Because they are a bit power hungry you do need about 35-40 watts to make them sing.
My NAD 3020 D proves your Class D tropes are wrong
I find myself less willing to type with the same precision and care that I used to. I get accused of being overly specific more than I used to...
high sensitivity + low impedance vs. low sensitivity + high impedance
Speaker Y is harder to drive from an amplifier perspective. To start on something like this the first thing to do is convert from sensitivity to efficiency. Sensitivity is 2.83 volts at 1 meter. Efficiency is 1 watt 1 meter; into 8 ohms that is al...
Compression Titanium Worlds finest tweet ever engineered
The beryllium drivers in my speakers have their first breakup at 35KHz. The links provided didn't say anything about Ti diaphragms. I googled a few but without more info none of them seem to do as well as the drivers I already have. So I'm going w...
Compression Horns for Far field listening

One fellow that I personally admire as I believe him to be quite forward in thought is Bruno Putzey'sBruno is quite brilliant. The thing is that cables can cause colorations due to capacitance, interactions with the output impedance of a source, th...
Power regenerator vs conditioner
Ralph, what have you heard or have you tried the Puritan products? I put a lot of stock in your views, so I'm asking!@hilde45  No, I haven't. I took a look at their website. IMO a passive product like this might have some audible effect, but witho...
Looking for my Final Pair!!
You make critics and as always with out facts. Please bring/show here your first hand experiences with measures that proves your " muddy sound eliminating ANY perceived advantage ".Lol!! ROFLMAO! Raul, first, you don't present measurements here,...
To horn or not to horn
I am speaking about using tube (push pull, SET etc)amps , this does not concern ss amplification. Horns can work just fine with solid state as well. But it had better be good solid state, not the kind that is bright and harsh.
Compression Horns for Far field listening
The seller does not speak good english, what i think he is trying to get across is that his TI horn may not be ideal match for a small room acoustics.Anyone have experience with TI Horns can chime in please. The TI Horn will sit on top of a 8 i...
Are Preamplifier’s Relevant Today or just a Hinderance with Digital Playback ?
I find attitudes toward preamplifiers in general within some computer audio communities heavily one sided against preamplifiersThis is because invariably the DAC is right next to the amp using a very short cable in most cases, and there being seve...
My NAD 3020 D proves your Class D tropes are wrong
Going along with that, there is something about some Class D that requires DAYS to warm up. @erik_squires I missed this earlier. This is not true of all class D amps. I'm not contesting that this is your experience with your amp, but its nothing ...
Looking for my Final Pair!!
@dave_b Just for the record, Raul took my comments out of context.
