The Return of Live Music
Its always good to meet a music lover. I have been an avid player of music and Listener to music. Both give me thrills. Playing is about the most fun one can have with their clothes on. But it was listening to music which made me want to play it. ...
Put fun back into Hometheater+Music
@kgveteran This is an interesting post/thread. I agree that respecting each other is important. There should be more camaraderie here than exists. However it is a 2 way street as @oldhvymec has pointed out. And maybe people share in the wrong room...
Step up transformer or upgrade phono preamp?
This company was introduced yesterday in another thread. I have not heard their equipment so I can’t say how good it is. Others endorsed it. and  it does have more gain. FWIW I am using 60db phono preamp with a Zyx 4D .24mv.I’m sure there are othe...
Step up transformer or upgrade phono preamp?
If you have enough gain now, then IMO a step up is just another piece of equipment lengthening the signal path rather than shortening it. This is just the opposite of good design principles. The phono preamp is as important as the Turntable itself...

Is using an Apple Computer a weak link...?
I'm curious WHY you want to go from The Aurender A10 to a Desktop unless you can't use it as a dedicated streamer. But I'll stick around and maybe learn some more.
AVR: Internal 2 CHANNEL AUDIO MODE. OR: HT BYPASS (external equipment for 2 CH Sources)
Years ago I had a 3 channel amp w/HT processor. I installed it in my 2 channel system. This way I had the best of both worlds. When I wanted movies, I'd press HT bypass (?) and combine the 2 systems. I can't remember if I had to sync the volumes  ...
Manufacturers past their heyday
Many if not most successful mfg are not in there HEY day.  Those days are reserved for the newer mfgs who come out with a new piece that punches above the others in their class. CJ as others have been doing that for 40 years. It's not unusual for ...
Looking for some help with my TT journey.. Records are looping..
FWIW, I see from a previous thread, you have a "NOS Voice". Did you buy this from a reputable dealer? Do you have a Jewelers Loupe? That may help. Otherwise ask soundsmith customer service. Jewelers Loupe - Bing

That wieght seems light to me. What cartridge are you using?BTW live albums often don’t sound as good as studio albums. Typicall 2.0 gm is normal tracking. tell me your cartridge and I’ll check for you if you’d likeOK I see you have The Voice 1.3-...
When Everything Comes Together
Those are special events. I have an extraordinary love for music in much of the same genre. And I can say that since I have addressed many power issues with my system, I have a LOT of great listening sessions. But always? NO! And I DO KNOW what yo...
recording to Reel to Reel directly from "preamp out"
Just remember preamp out is variable output Good call @millercarbon. That's something very important that I had overlooked.A question though? Then just remember if you do try and monitor using the power amp the signal coming off the tape deck is...
CEC CDP 3300
Cosmetically only fair but is fully functional Hmm, so despite the lack of care it still plays? OK, how are you with DIY? I ask because I am not and would not consider it for that reason. If you can troubleshoot and work on it, then go ahead, ...
Speaker Recommendation
I used a 35wpc amp with my Silverlines with good results. However my speakers are 93.5db efficient. I WOULD NOT go lower than that. No way, no how.SAY NO to the Tannoys. That is sales speak. They are still 90db which will not be enough IME You NEE...
Looking for some help with my TT journey.. Records are looping..
Do you have a scale? You cannot guess. Too light trracking will cause skips, not too heavy. Use mfg's specs.IF your stylus is good, then it is dirty records. Especially if they are used records. I have had a very small particle stuck in the groove...
