Why are optical cables jitter prone? Is it easier to build optical--fiber optic--outputs? I've seen some of the cheaper DVD players that only have coax outputs, i.e. my Toshiba DVD player for my second TV, while on the other had players like the Sony Playstation seem to only have opt...
New Tara Lab The ONE More expensive.Sorry for the sarcasm. I've seen the ads for the new THE ONE. Haven't listened to it. Did they make this one solid core?
Am I Nuts or What? I listen to my money. It says, "Buy that amplifier."
Am I Nuts or What? Am I correct in understanding that you are comparing two different types of jumpers? Or are you comparing bi-wire to a single wire-with jumper configuration? If its just two sets of jumpers, then I must confess that I don't believe one set should ...
Finally taking the leap to Monoblocks Sean, check Stereophile's review of the 7B. They liked it enough to give it a Class A rating. I think they give a pretty good technical breakdown of the amp, it might answer a few of your questions.
Finally taking the leap to Monoblocks Sean, I think you might be wrong about the Bryston. You are referring to the 7B right? I think from the Bryston homepage it says 500 watts at 2 or 8 ohms, and 800 watts at 1 or 4 ohms. I think on the 7B you can have the output stage operate in ser...
Awsome Remote?? "internet loser dorks?" uhh, what is it we're doing? "audio loser dorks?" myself included. :)
Damping Factor of Muscal Fidelity A3cr You could possibly email Musical Fidelity and ask them. Also, I saw a post on this site earlier today and now I lost it. Somebody was complaining that their A3cr just quit working after about 3 months and they had to send it back to Audio Advisor....
Order of importance My Meridian 508.24 CD player goes great with my CJ pre-amp. You should listen to one. Also, do you have a price range for a player? You could probably pick up the Meridian used for $2000 here on Audiogon, new for maybe $3500.
What's your profession? Age? This is really cool, seeing all the walks of life people come from. Music brings us all together, right? Or is it the expensive equipment? I keep forgetting. :)
Order of importance I agree, get the CD player first. Thiel speakers, any of them, are revealing enough that you should get enjoyment out of a source upgrade. CJ equipment demands a good source as well. The CJ PFR is on my short list of pre-amps to upgrade to. I use ...
The Professional Monitor Company I don't know any other brands that are comperable. The LB-1 seems to be in a class of its own. They use the Dynaudio driver, but the LB-1 does not sound like a Dynaudio speaker. The store where I buy my gear at sells Dynaudio speakers as well. The...
My 4B-ST runs Hot Just got a response from Bryston. They want me to see if I can duplicate the problem after I switch my speakers around. Guess they want to rule out a bad speaker or cable. I'm going to try it again, but I've moved my system to different rooms in m...
Upgrade from Audioquest Lapis Thanks all, for the advice. However, the cable upgrade just go moved to the back burner as my amp is having a problem and will most likely need to be serviced now.
So many choices what to buy? I second the opinion that you should try out Dynaudio. The top of the line in the Contour series is so sweet. They really sing with proper amplification. |
