Integrated amp -- Pass Labs vs Luxman vs McIntosh Next time please be more specific the first time, so we can avoid this kind of discussion again...Lol! you're a funny lil' dude! I don't remember asking you to partake in this discussion. Don't let the door hit you on your way out. And once you're...
Integrated amp -- Pass Labs vs Luxman vs McIntosh @jjss49 Yes, the ARC came with a very thin (I think 18 guage) wire which kind a surprised me. Except for the first couple of days, most of my listening was done using the same Cerious Technology PC. I am still quite surprised by how much of a diff...
Integrated amp -- Pass Labs vs Luxman vs McIntosh Sure. And you’re free to butt out :)
Integrated amp -- Pass Labs vs Luxman vs McIntosh So I thought I'd update this thread since a few things have changed in the last few days....I bought the ARC GSi75 and was totally amazed at the sound quality. The sound was lush, huge midrange that easily filled the room, and amazingly 3D and hol...
Hegel h590 or Accuphase e460 with Harbeth 40.3 @beppep -- please accept my apology for misconstruing your post. We have seen many times where someone who just joined starts trashing a particular brand. In many cases, they are shrills for some product or have an ulterior motive. Reading your la...
Harbeth P3ESR vs the new XD Also, keep in mind that it will take quite a while (100+ hours at least) for the bass to improve. I was initially dissatisfied with bass response, but boy did it improve after 100 hours or so.
Hegel h590 or Accuphase e460 with Harbeth 40.3 Hegel and 'no grip on bass'? I only heard the Hegel 390 briefly, and I think it does bass better than any other amp I've heard. 'Low dynamics' with Hegel, this poster is a joker!
B&W vs. Sonus Faber I’d much rather buy old speakers instead of used cars. As long as the speakers are less than 5-7 years old, there are fewer things that can go wrong. I’ve bought almost 7 pairs of speakers in the last 15 years, all used, zero issues. Knock on wood!
McIntosh vs Accuphase? Also, if you're considering Accuphase, don't rule out Luxman.
B&W vs. Sonus Faber I've been a victim of buying speakers based on what appealed to me during a short 30-minute demo at the dealer. I have found that SF speakers, at least the ones I auditioned (Olympica line; old and Nova) are not that impressive during short auditi...
McIntosh vs Accuphase? Accuphase, of course. I am building a new system and recently heard an Accuphase at a dealer (it was an exchange I think since the dealer does not carry Accuphase otherwise). We compared the Accuphase E-480 with McIntosh (I think it was the 7200, ...
Why is there no love for Prima Luna? @jjss49 Excellent post, and well said!
Why is there no love for Prima Luna? I think high-end audio’s appeal is obviously based on superior sound quality, but other factors including build quality, long-term reliability (think decades, not just years), servicing and parts, and pride of ownership play a much bigger role whe...
Dedicated Harbeth P3 Thread Oh, BTW, those who claim that the P3esr's are only suitable for non-complex or jazz music have not used them in conjunction with a musical subwoofer.
Dedicated Harbeth P3 Thread @snackeyp Were you able to do the comparison between SF and Harbeth? Incidentally, I recently purchased (used) Sonus Faber Olympica II being driven by Audio Research GSi75. I still have the P3esr driven by Rogue Audio Cronus Magnum II and Audio Mi... |
