Wilson Audio Specialties Chronosonic XVX loudspeaker!! only $300,000.oo
This speaker is the equivalent of a concept car where the auto manufacturer pulls out all stops and builds a cost-no-object SOTA vehicle. The ultimate goal is to showcase the technological/engineering prowess of the company, and not necessarily tu...
Wilson Audio Specialties Chronosonic XVX loudspeaker!! only $300,000.oo
can buy a complete system with TOTL amps, source, preamp, plus several brand of CDs and LPs, plus a 1977 trans am, and a new corvette, and still have money left over for booze and a bunch of groceries, and pay property taxes for a couple years. Go...
Luxman 507/509
OP -- you should consider the 550 and 590 models as well. They are quite similar to 507/509, but IMO add a bit more warmth and texture to the sound owing to their ability to operate in pure class A further than the other models.
Never Use HiFi-Exquis - Worst Merchant Ever!
I feel that some of the anger for the Chinese government, while justified to some extent, is misplaced. They’re doing what’s best for their country and people. While we focus on human rights and trade violations, we completely ignore the millions ...
The Spatial Audio M Series Sapphire Loudspeakers reviews ! Best Kept Secret
OP - you seem to have secret access to a lot of best kept secrets. What’s your secret to unlocking the secrets of the ‘best kept’ secrets variety? Just curious.
Help me complete my stereo system (Harbeth, ClearAudio Concept).
Naim is quite good, but once you acquire the taste for Accuphase or Luxman, you won’t be satisfied with Naim.
Fuzzy white noise sound coming from tweeter?
Can you not ask the dealer/shop where you purchased the components from to let you borrow another amp ad/or power cord to try? If not, try to remove any other appliances that might be sharing the same power line or power strip.
Moving up the Harbeth line
@ryder Yes, indeed! What a nice problem to have. I feel blessed to own and listen to both speakers. I don't think I will be able to pick a favorite anytime soon :)
Luxman L-590AX
@dramatictenor -- congratulations! I, too, compared the 590AXII to the 509 and several other amps before settling on the 590, and reached the same conclusions as yours. Both amps are fairly neutral, but the 590 sprinkles just the right proportions...
Recommendations on Integrated Tube Amp around $5k
I have listened to LM 508IA (not the 845ia though), PrimaLuna DiaLogue Premium HP, and Raven Blackhawk MKIII. To be honest, they all sound more similar than different. You’d be hard pressed to tell them apart if you were blindfolded.I went with Ra...
Moving up the Harbeth line
@prof Good observations, especially about the misconception regarding Harbeths being pipes and slippers speakers. I've always found them to be very well balanced.I've been going back and forth between the SHL5+ and 30.1 and have to say they are bo...
Moving up the Harbeth line
@jjss49 [ i give you two months to get mon 40s in the big room ]Haha! Just saw this comment. I guess it takes one to know one ;)I would be lying if I told you the thought hadn’t crossed my mind. But right now, I have exhausted the goodwill of my s...
Moving up the Harbeth line
@twoleftears The Ls5/5 design looks very interesting. When I was looking earlier, I did consider Graham and Falcon as Harbeth competitors. The problem is it is very difficult to audition these speakers anywhere. I have been burned in the past buyi...
Moving up the Harbeth line
Update ...Finally got proper stands (open-style, wood, 18" tall, very similar to TonTrager) for the SHL5+, and what a difference they have made. The problem with excess bass that I described earlier is completely, 100% resolved. I have removed the...
Clear difference between Harbeth 30.2 & Super HL5 Plus?
@gunners01 -- It's great to hear that you're finally getting the results with PrimaLuna. The SHL5+ are some of the best speakers I've heard and definitely scale with better amplification. Having said that, given your preferred musical genres, I st...
