Thinking of Magnepan ... finally! @yesiam_a_pirate Don't be a dick and wring him out then shop for used ones. That's manifestly selfish and unfair. Thank you for chiming in. My room is quite well treated so I'm hoping that will not be an issue with the Magnepans. But I'm open...
Thinking of Magnepan ... finally! @mijostyn I appreciate the offer. I will contact you once I get the speakers -- most likely around June of this year. Thank you!
would innuos mk3 streamer benefit from network filter +1 on Network Acoustics Eno filter. It really removed any remaining digital artifacts from the signal. Another tweak that resulted in a nice improvement was replacing the stock fuse with Synergistic Research Purple fuse.
Contemplating DEVORE SPEAKERS (and others)....LONG audition report of many speakers @prof Thanks for sharing your impressions of the upgraded Perspective2s. I share your enthusiasm regarding these wonderful speakers. I think I mentioned before that I got myself a new Aavik U-280 integrated amp. This amp really showed me how much ...
Thinking of Magnepan ... finally! As enticing as the 3.7 model is, I feel it’s prudent to stick with 1.7i for now. I have no doubt that the 3.7 is possibly the sweet spot in the Magnepan lineup. But considering that I’m only trying to explore the Magnepan sound signature at this t...
Grimm MU1 Streamer - Really "The Best"? @nyev Congrats! Looks like you've finally found the sonic bliss you were looking for. I just wish you had tried the SR Purple fuse with the Innuos. When you mentioned, "stunning detail, tangibility, solidity, impact, and music that is totally aliv...
If you had to narrow your choices to 4 - 5 speakers @soix I think I remember reading the same account on another thread on agon. I was actually using a pair of REL S/510 subs with the Joseph Audio, but ever since I got the Aavik U-280 I felt the subs were redundant. The combo of JA and Aavik is sup...
Are Harbeth Super HL5 XD right for me? @avanti1960 That's what I was thinking too. When I replaced the SHL5+ with Joseph Audio speakers, I wasn't sure if they would be suitable in my home office where I couldn't have pulled them out more than a foot due to the layout of the room. I alm...
Thinking of Magnepan ... finally! +1 @jjss49 The level of enthusiasm by Magnepan owners is commendable for sure. You can just sense how passionate they are about their speakers and how it connects them with the music first and foremost. Love it! I have thought about the 3.7s bu...
Recommendation for sub with high level inputs Rel T7x or T9x for sure. Both are very musical subs that will integrate with your speakers and amp very well.
If you had to narrow your choices to 4 - 5 speakers @blisshifi Thank you for sharing your thoughts on Joseph Audio Perspective2 and Borresen X3 speakers. I currently own the Perspective2 Graphene version placed in a 20x15 room with 12 foot ceilings. I often wonder if moving up to the Pearl is going...
Are Harbeth Super HL5 XD right for me? @grislybutter So possibly, from that lens, the more expensive Harbeth models are more bang for the buck I agree with you regarding the lower end models from Harbeth. With the current pricing for their smallest bookshelf speakers, P3esr, I think...
Are Harbeth Super HL5 XD right for me? @jdougs At the risk of sounding like Captain Obvious, please make sure you give yourself ample time to get to know the sound signature. These speakers are very balanced and don't favor any specific frequency range. They might sound less detailed t...
Thinking of Magnepan ... finally! I really appreciate the input and feedback from everyone. This is exactly the kind of input I was hoping for. It will be difficult for me to address and thank each one of you individually but please know that I really appreciate the detailed, high...
Are Harbeth Super HL5 XD right for me? There are better values for the money, British speakers in the US are usually pricey I have gone through multiple speakers in the last 5-7 years ranging from $3K to 18K. Harbeth SHL5+ is a great value for anything under $10K. There's a reason p... |
