Best Digital Amp for Legacy Focus 20/20?
It is a fact of life, not my opinion. Simple as that. Maybe Henry takes steps to minimise that, I don't know. But he can not eliminate it any more than I can.Facts is facts, bub.......The point is......perhaps it was buried........you need to audi...
Best Digital Amp for Legacy Focus 20/20?
Your speakers are close to a resistive load. It may be a very low one, but it is still close to being resistive. As you go from 8 ohms, down to 4 ohms, the respsonse tends to level out some. But drop below that impedance and it starts to fall off r...
Best Digital Amp for Legacy Focus 20/20?
Handling them is not quite the issue. As someone how makes amps like that (disclaimer: I build and sell amps), there is one small caveat. The Ear amps, the H2O amps, the Rowlands, Red Dragon, the ones I make......a bunch more, use ICEpower amp modu...

I am not being difficult. I have a long-standing feud with someone that does exactly what I am commenting on. It will just be a matter of time that he finds this through Google, and the feud will spill over to here. So, while it may be beneficial ...

Only problem with the first 2 suggestions........I know of some people (on other forums) that make countless useless posts, only so that they can get their name in front of as many people as possible. Again.I would rather not appear to be one of t...

I registered as a manufacturer, and I initially thought that would have been sufficient. On my profile, there is no such indication, so any advice on how to better identify my connection would be welcome. As Ross Perot would say: "I'm all ears."

Ayre does not use any loop feedback. You don't have to ask them............As for the sound of amps without global feedback: yes.The amps we made in the mid-90s (where I got rid of the feedback loop in the output stage) really opened things up. It...

I don't know of any designer that looks to feedback as a solution to bias stabilisation in a SS amp. Lowering noise, distortion and output impedance, yes. Increasing bandwidth and input impedance, ditto.Maybe the guys who design tube gear do, but ...

How do you figure it has to do with stabilising?? Stabilising what? And which way do you use for marketing, and which for precision? By precision, do you mean THD numbers of 0.00001%? Seems to me that is done for marketing, as the amps in the mid-7...

The Ayre amps use local feedback, sometimes called degeneration, and no loop feedback. The Stasis amps had no feedback from the speaker output to the signal input, but instead had feedback loops applied to "building blocks".The new generation of s...
IRD monoblocks or Acoustic Reality?
Yep, those guy were into the Acoustic Reality amps over there. Not so much now. Main complaint that I heard was it is hard to get big fat speakers cables up inside that odd triangular shape that the designer opted for.
Single ended to XLR adapter
Even if it is a "pseudo-balanced" setup, it very easily could sound better balanced. I really doubt that is has anything to do with the actual connector used. But if it also has RCA connectors in addition to the XLRs, I do not think it will help m...

Vince:Would you care to elaborate on "hounding"? Not sure that I get your drift.
"This Latest Digital Amp Is Great "
I thought that I did mention that I was a manufacturer. Maybe not in this thread. Sorry for the confusion. I am mainly here to answer questions, as my products have been mentioned by others, and it resulted in confusion since I was not the one who...

I think that the "digital" amp revolution.......if you can call it that......is here to stay. Especially for 5(+) channel systems, where escessive heat, weight, and space are too much of a hassle for the owner.Sure, I would like to sell everyone h...
