Maintaining a "Balanced" System Design?
I was astonished at the difference mid priced power cords make, more than any speaker cables did at twice the price.   Based on the reviews and opinions on here I’ve seen, you will likely love Joseph Audio speakers!
Power cable dilemma
This could be entirely dependent on the unit, but I spent just under $200.00 on a power cord and it made an easily audible difference for the better.  I would imagine spending more would be better…
Snowballs
mahler123 - There’s a reason they wear helmets with face masks, some with plastic eye shields, it’s a very violent sport, and the head and face are very susceptible to serious injury.  Many on the sidelines; players, coaches, officials, police off...
Perception and Watts: Doubling of power
The there’s amps that can supposedly “increase instantaneous power, for effortless reproduction of musical transients.”  Don’t know the science behind this, but it sounds like a good thing…
Newbie want to improve what I have
foxton- I had an M33 and loved it, just didn’t have the free time to listen as much as I liked, so I sold it at an only $500.00 loss compared to what I paid for it.  I now have the C700 I got open box for a grand, love the sound on it, too.  If yo...
Power conditions for Integrated Amps
I have a Furman PST-8D Digital Power Station which both cleans up the power and is a very robust surge suppressor. Gets great reviews everywhere, I’ve got it on  both of my surround setups, as well as my 2 channel system. In my two channel system ...
Budget friendly receiver choice
kraftwerturbo - I forgot to mention, the new Onkyo AVR I just got does bi-amping, as mine is set up that way.  Through Monitor Audio Silver speakers and a 12 inch SVS sub it sounds great.  When I got the new Samsung TV and saw it supported the new...
Budget friendly receiver choice
You will very likely want to have the new HDMI 2.1 inputs and outputs on you’re new AVR, they have an extremely fast transfer rate of 48 GBs, make sure you get certified 2.1 HDMI cables, too. I just bought a new Onkyo TX NR6100 AVR on sale for $20...
Streamer/DAC - Where is the value?
I’ve compared Tidal with Qobuz and find Qobuz to be the better sound quality.   Erik_Squires…what makes you think Tidal, or especially Qobuz, are going anywhere?  For that matter I’m pretty sure streaming is here to stay for a long while.  But t...
How much is about the recording
I’m pretty happy with my simple streaming set-up.  I often read (my real passion) while listening to music playlists on Qobuz, and the songs that make me stop reading and listen are typically the well recorded, high-res ones, whether I like the so...
Streamers/DACs
As far as extending the reach of your signal the Netgear Powerline 2000 + Extra Outlet works great for me, have three in my home with great speeds, about a hundred bucks each on Crutchfield back over a year ago.
Can't Find Offer
Here’s a sure way to get something you want…check the Blue Book price and if they want something close to it just pay it.  So many cheapskates out there, until they’re selling something!
Roger Waters Live Last Night in Glendale,AZ
teo-audio:  wow, your picture should be next to the definition of long winded. When I go to a concert I go to hear the music, not the political rantings of the musician.  The last three concerts I’ve been to had no politics at all (Eagles, Bob Se...
Bookshelf speakers that renders 3D soundstage
In your price range I would try the Monitor Audio Silver 100’s.  They are extremely well reviewed and go low for a bookshelf.  I have the left, right and center versions in my living room AVR setup and they sound pretty good, though the room setup...
NAD M23 Stereo Amplifier: Best Amp Ever Bench Tested?!?
I had the NAD M33, sold it because I changed to a much more sensitive 8 (from 4) ohm speakers and didn’t need the Dirac room correction.  Got a used NAD 368 with the Blu OS module.  Both are very neutral, don’t have a house sound, you’re getting m...
