Reynaud Bliss Jubile vs Cantabile Jubile
Bob actually did encourage me to get the Cantabile Jubilé. And that's what I'll be getting.
Reynaud Bliss Jubile vs Cantabile Jubile
"offer" better, not oder.   I've had a couple of people say to gamble and go for the CJ, including a different dealer. While another couple of people I know say they never buy without hearing first. I would normally side with the latter, but fro...
Reynaud Bliss Jubile vs Cantabile Jubile
Thank you, @jackd for your response.   I noticed that the Bliss Jubile has a ~6.75" woofer while the Cantabile has two 5.25" woofers. The cabinet on the BJ is a hair wider.    The thing is I could get an opportunity to demo the Bliss Jubile bu...
Speakers To Replace Castle Edens
BTW, I'm currently auditioning a pair of Harbeth C7 XD. The only thing they have sonically in common with the Castle Eden is that they render large images that can fill the room, but otherwise, they're very different. The Harbeths aren't as rich s...
Speakers To Replace Castle Edens
Unfortunately, apparently Reynaud supplied boxes are quite flimsy, so they'd need to be substantially double-boxed. The US importer actually shrinkwraps them to a pallet and ships freight because he doesn't trust normal shipping companies with the...
Am I Better Off With Limited Low Frequency Speaker In A Small Room?
Yes, I do listen diagonally (or kitty-corner as I call it).   I'm auditioning Harbeth C7 XD over this weekend. Interesting speaker. It sounds wide open. Bass is fairly deep and tight, no bloat. Images are large. The speaker is easy to listen to....
Am I Better Off With Limited Low Frequency Speaker In A Small Room?
The Castle Edens sound remarkably good in my room.  I do have Corner Tunes in all four corners. Yes, I have a 55" flat screen TV. I have a cushy couch. Wood record shelves. A few pictures.    It's not perfect, but I also listen nearfield, and as...
Am I Better Off With Limited Low Frequency Speaker In A Small Room?
I'm not a fan of subs. There can be a discontinuity in tonality. I have never heard one in a room where I didn't prefer listening to music without it.    I don't need the extension if the speaker goes down to close to 40hz.   By the way, I hav...
In-Store (Best Buy) KEF R3 vs B&W 705 S2 Comparison
Usually an issue with buying online is having to pay for shipping back to the retailer of not happy.
In-Store (Best Buy) KEF R3 vs B&W 705 S2 Comparison
I just got home from a bike ride. These 705 S2 speakers have already changed. They have gotten more articulate in the lower end, and they've loosened a bit.    I notice that the manual says to give them at least 15 hours for the mechanical aspec...
In-Store (Best Buy) KEF R3 vs B&W 705 S2 Comparison
Yes, @jetter, that's who has the Minima. The Harbeth left me uninvolved. They have Fyne speakers, which were developed by originators of Tannoy. I tried the SF Sorrentos, and they didn't do anything for me.
In-Store (Best Buy) KEF R3 vs B&W 705 S2 Comparison
Thanks.    It was just sort of a lark, a fill-in, an experiment. It might be a month or so before I can get a pair of Reynauds to try.    It's sonewhat limited pickings with regard to hearing speakers around here. There are a few shops, but on...
Speakers To Replace Castle Edens
Well, there IS one listing for Bliss Silvers, but they're in Chicago, local pickup only.
Speakers To Replace Castle Edens
I think HiFi Shark is largely for the European market, no? I have gone there and not seen US listings.
Speakers To Replace Castle Edens
So I'm not sure of what to do. The lower end Reynauds I have heard were flawed, but oh so musical. So I'm tempted with a better one. The Bliss Jubilee w/stands come to $3000 US. I could eventually get a pair of demos to try from the importer, Mike...
