Lyra Delos or Hana ML
@paulgardner  This is likely not the answer you wanted to hear. After some upgrades to the digital  end of my system, I ultimately sold all my analog  gear, All at top dollar, including all my LPs. All sold within a day or 2 of my listing them. ...
Lyra Delos or Hana ML
I have owned the Delos, Hana SL, and Benz Wood SL. All went into a tubed phono preamp and tubed line stage. Had  both SS and Tube poweramps at various times with this set up, but mostly tubes. The Delos was not warm or lush. It was detailed and t...
Tube Power vs Solid State Power
Watts are only one parameter, and an easy one to market, like Megapixels in Photography. I remember back in the 60s when solid state first got started. The marketing drive was how many transistors a radio had. The more the better so the more it so...
Are Quicksilver power tube amps in the same league as VAC, VTL, BAT, ARC, ...?
My Mid Monos sound wonderful and are very reliable. I have owned ARC and Cary tubed power amps and they are easily in the same league soundwise.  If you need more power consider the V4. The capability to use different output tubes which both the V...
Apple TV Set Up
I used an apple TV in the same manner quite a while ago. A dedicated streamer is a much better way to go and will give you a nicer interface as well. Something simple like a Bluesound Node 2i would be a good place to start.
Possible Cartridge Suspension Collapse?
I had a Hana SL that was starting to do that as well. It had 300 hours on it. I replaced it with a new Benz Micro Wood Cartridge, and it did the same with about 400 hours on it. Both were less than 2 years old. All on a VPI arm that was set up pro...
LYRA DELOS CARTRIDGE TOO BRIGHT, THIN AND SHRILL SOUNDING
I had a Delos at one time on a VPI Aries and JMW 10 arm going into an all tube phono preamp, preamp and 2 monoblock tube power amps I had a similar experience to the OP. Despite having 40 years + with high end vinyl playback, and no matter how muc...
Vinyl...should I stay, or should I go?
I went though the same process as you. One thing to consider is that every cartridge has it's own sonic profile. Your particular Dynavector is generally very detailed but lean and lacking bass. I once owned one and never could get it to satisfy me...
Got a Node 2i, what's next?
@vinylzone. You have a lot of $$$ invested in your vinyl front end and I assume the rest of your system is of high quality as well. yet you are only thinking of investing $500 - $1000 on a DAC, it sounds like you have already delegated your digita...
Got a Node 2i, what's next?
I used to have a VPI Aries, JMW 10 Arm, Art Audio Vinyl One Tube Phono stage and various high end MC cartridges that rotated through the system. I also have a Node 2i and went through the same process you are going through now. I got the Musical P...
What is the actual percentage of people exclusively listening to vinyl vs digital?
I recently sold all my vinyl gear and albums and have gone completely digital. I could not justify having 2 formats anymore. My vinyl setup was worth about $12,000, yet my digital setup that I had only 1/3 of that amount invested in was for the mo...
Speakers The single most critical component
Audio has changed so much over the last 55 years that I have been an audiophile. Much has improved in all types of gear, speakers, amps etc, but back then most households had a crappy console stereo. You were an audiophile if you owned some Dynaco...
VINYL SUCKS!
If you like vinyl better, great. If you like digital better, great.I've run both formats for decades, each has advantages, and disadvantages.I learned that to do any format well, so it sounds like music, takes a lot of knowledge, experience, and a...
Funny how streaming/digital still chases that analog benchmark.
Why does everything need to be polarized. Why do we have to pick one or the other.  Most of us can afford to have both digital and analog sources. Wouldn't you rather have 2 lovers than one?
BS Node 2i: WiFi or Ethernet..?
Not that I mean to hijack the thread as the OP is looking for a relative benefit for going Ethernet as opposed to wifi. User experiences seem to vary from it making a difference to little or no improvement and my take on this may be related perhap...
