Gerrym - Did you really pay $ 700 for you Mobie? I thought they went for $ 250 or so!
Stainless Steel audio racks?
Did a quick search. You can find the full Solidsteel catalog at www.audiogamma.it. The model I own is the 5.5, which currently sells for Lit. 855000 (about $ 450). Shipping will cost ya, though! :-)
Stainless Steel audio racks?
Were you thinking about Solidsteel racks? Not sur eif they are imported into the US anymore. I bough mine in Italy a few years back. Mine is black, and I believe they make them with silver (not shiny steel silver, though) finish as well.Alex
Sonus Faber Extrema..bi-wire or not??
I have found bi-wiring to help on my Guarneri's. I went from a single run of AQ Argent full ragne, to internally biwired Argent to a double run of Clear SE with significnat improvements in resolution, extension, and soundstaging along the way. Of ...
Audioquest Sterling?????
Something tells me AQ should have come up with different names as they "improved" their cables. My Clear SE's have copper (10 total in 17 and 19 awg) and silver (frou, in 21 awg) conductors, and have a shiny medium grey braided jacket. I think, ho...
Audioquest Sterling?????
OK, my first post was "off the cuff". I checked the Aq cable chart. Hasse is right. The Clear and the Sterling are the same size. In fact, the AQ Midnight, Clear,Sterling and Dragon are all 10 awg cables with 14 conductors. The difference is the m...
Audioquest Sterling?????
Pretty sure its smaller. The Dragon is the same diameter as the Clear.
Survey-What is your most used source?
Turntable. CD mostly used for music I do not own on LP, to warm up the amps and for whenever I feel too lazy too get up and flip LP's
What s in front of your chair?
Interestingly enough, there was company in Italy about 5 years ago who started selling decorative area rugs "specifically designed" for listening rooms. Never saw or "heard" one..but I'm sure some people bought them.
The partner or wife factor
My wife wouls rather knothat I am downstairs listening to my system than out drinking w/my buddies. When you factor in the risk of DUI's, its a LOT cheaper!
Shotgun biwire?
I would say it depends on the speaker. For a two way monitor, it's probably overkill and pretty expensive to do. I use shotgun bi-wire cables now, but they are up for sale to pay for an upgrade. With unlimited $$, I would still use a double run, a...
"All Linn" ... is it still a good idea ?
You'll need lots more power to drive Martin Logans. Heck, even the 5140's don't sound their best until actively biamped. Frankly, I would shop around. I sold all my Linn gear (Kairn, two LK 100s, Karik/Numerik) other than the LP12/Linto and went t...
best all around monitor
Depends what you call a monitor. If you extend the definition to any "smallish" stand mounted speaker, you'd have to consider the Sf Guarneri, the Acoustic Energy AES 1 Signature and the SF Electa Amator II
Acoustic Zen Satori-How Good Are They?
Olesno - Yeah, the link to Virtual System ain't very intuitive. This is in Beta phase on Audiogon, so I suppose it will get better. For now, click on "New Today", and scroll down past the classifieds until you get to the Virtual System link. Click...
Acoustic Zen Satori-How Good Are They?
Thank you all for your posts. Olesno - I am not REALLY looking to fix a problem, just got a case of audiophile Spring fever. My system is posted in Virtual System (Endless Nights/Restless Days or something silly like that). Have a look if you have...
