Sooloos music server: Anyone hear, anyone a dealer
The main appeal is its user friendly touch screen interface and perhaps convenience...the fact that you can buy all the music server components in a single product line.I'm finding though that with a decent DAC, it is not hard to get very good sou...
New Fuse Thread . . .
One's an Audiogon member but he's incredibly busy and does not post much. He's user name is Logenn. He has a wonderful system but has not posted it in Virtual Systems yet. The other guy that responded immediately is not a member here. He has a VER...
New Fuse Thread . . .
Ever notice that when many obtain an EE Degree, it seems to affect their aural accuity?Understood. I've read threads where the poster argues that something cannot work, even when items were available to judge by ear. In photography I was taught to...
New Fuse Thread . . .
I installed Hi Fi Tuning fuses in my VTL amps and the change was so positive, two of the guys in my group ordered for their system the next day.Strangely enough, putting Hi Fi tuning fuses in the turntable power supply was nearly half of what I go...
White residue on stylus
What ugly stains on an otherwise great LP. However, it looks more like something from the jacket or sleeve rather than a pressing defect.I'll look over a few more of my Blue Note reissues.
totem winds destroy dali helicon mk2
Does a Quad 57 sound like an Apogee Diva, Sound Labs M-1, or a Martin Logan CLS??? Not the ones I've heard! They all have things they're good at, but none of them are good at all things.I was in love with panel speakers for decades and still hold ...
White residue on stylus
I use Nitty Gritty cleaning pads, but anything that has a soft "velvet" type surface would work. I would avoid those super large pads as they tend to soak up too much Premier rather than distributing it into the LP grooves.I've also used the pads ...
White residue on stylus
Restock, I did not have the problem of white marks on my Music Matters LP's. Perhaps I was lucky or there are only a few with the marks.I assume by Micro cleaner you mean Micro Care, the cleaner is called Premier and it works wonders on mold relea...
2008 RMAF – – – all things analog.
Albert,The Classic Audio and Oswald Rooms were special.Your taste seems to be similar to mine. I know you are Koetsu fan, so I really hope you get your hands on a Koetsu Coral Stone, as you have been thinking about. It really is special, and leagu...
Shipping heavy speakers from USA to Europe?
Unknown to me. All you can do is ask, which cost nothing. I can say Schenker were excellent in handling my shipment, which was very large and very fragile. Also the price was fair, even with very high value insurance.I wish you good luck with your...

I always love RMAF, it's my favorite audio show. Lots of rooms this year sounded nice, overall better than typical CES showrooms. The surprise came from Classic Audio's new field coil drivers. It was an amazing upgrade from last years RMAF, and I'm...
Shipping heavy speakers from USA to Europe?
Contact Schenker Air Cargo, they are a German company with superb service and recently merged with Bax Global USA.I shipped a complete Walker turntable to Belgium with no issues and their price quote was very fair, lower than airline air cargo, Fe...

of course; i could always sell the Rockport to fund my adventures (like the Walker did yours). One must choose.....but I’m not complaining.......If you were able to replace the Rockport with a MK3, what a pile of cash you would have. You would be ...

No MK3 yet, but the platform for it to sit on is supposed to be delivered tomorrow. Hopefully the plinth is no more than another week after that.Dobbins says the MK3 is better than the MK2, I don't know how much better but assume he's right, he's ...

Great post Mike. Is there another turntable that might match the Rockport? I don't know but this is an interesting proposition.Imagine for a moment a turntable with 1.1 tons per CM2 moment of inertia, driving a copper laminated platter that weighs...
