VINYL SURFACE NOISE
If you have not used Record Research fluid to clean your LP's, you are in for a treat. I have tried all the fluids, and it is by far the best. As far as noise, all the comments are correct. You should not have that much problem with good, clean LP...
Need Cable Advice Please!!!
If you are without sound, make up a cable with Belden 8281, this is a precision video cable, and is a true 75 Ohms. You may find this hard to beat, even with expensive name brand cables, its certainly worth a try at $1.50 a foot.
Black Diamond Cones ADVICE
David, most of what is posted has covered my comments as well. I have a bunch of Black Diamond feet but no longer use them. I had two Black Diamond platforms, and sold them. The comments about Walker cones, I agree with, under some equipment, but ...
CD vs. SACD vs. DVD-Audio vs Vinyl vs...
I am pleased with the postings here. At least they are on the subject of music. Even a disagreeable posting at Audiogon beats the heck out of what's on my television in the front room. Carl has given me some hard words too, but we "fought" it over...
Turntable Recommendations please.
Bob went back to school to pursue higher education. I'm not sure what his plans are after that. I do all the photography for the lines represented by Musical Surroundings, including Aesthetix, Basis, Benz, Lukaschek, Graham. I do others too, but t...
Tubes? Transistors? Which are better?
I have heard Jeff Rowland's amps, and for transistors they are one of the three best I have ever heard. The others being Griphon from Sweden, and FM Acoustics from Switzerland. I still prefer tubes, for the same reason I stated before. It after al...
mac 67 mac71 yamaha ct 7000,marantz 20 .
Boy is Pgbramsen@aol correct! I actually tried all those about three years ago in my attempt to find the "perfect" tuner (the Marantz 10B won!). One only other possibility, and actually is a near contender to the Marantz, was the big Fisher. I thi...
DACS - Need Advice
I agree with the Bel Canto suggestion, amazing sound for the dollar, however, they just took a big price increase, so not as good a deal as it was. Another choice that could be less expensive is the Audio Research DAC 120. It is several years old ...
Tubes? Transistors? Which are better?
As long as all of us are touting our favorite poison here, I must confess, I am a tube guy all the way. One main reason that tubes sound more musical is that they don't "switch" on and off like transistors do, and when tube designs produce distort...
Turntable Recommendations please.
Carl, sometime you amaze me. I didn't know you knew about the Phonomena, much less heard it. I did the pictures of it that are currently being used. By the way, you are right about the sound of same. Pretty amazing for the VERY low price. I do thi...
Benz Micro vs. Koetsu
The Benz Ruby 2, considering the liberal trade in program, is a good choice. I agree basically with every comment posted above, and I doubt that the Koetsu Red is any better than the Ruby, although I have not personally made the comparison. I HAVE...

Yes, analog has problems, so does every format. I like to compare digital to a "connect the dots" picture that children like to draw. After the dots are connected, you can make out the image of the object that the dots represented, but all those s...

The easy web address for ECM is: ecmrecords.com. If you want, I will try to uncover the others, but I know this link works, as I just tried it.

David99. You have described my addiction exactly. I spend a lot of time at used book stores, Public Library Sales, Record Shows and especially on EBAY. The other day I noticed that there were over 90,000 (yes ninety thousand!) Just records! Posted...

Snook2. Good call on the ECM's in my opinion. I have a entire shelf of ECM artists. In my earlier posing I mentioned Steve Tibbitts (I am a big fan), and most of his work is on ECM. Should also mention the following artists or groups: Oregon, Don ...
