I finally bought a record cleaning machine $
Plato and others, I am sorry if my choice of words came off sounding wrong. The following comments are in no way meant to gain sympathy, I don't need sympathy. What I would like is a little understanding. When I was a young boy, our family was very...

Narrod, no question that for ABSOLUTE 100% of the time quiet, CD is the winner. That being said, it is possible to have an LP playback system that is as quiet 98% of the time and still have the superior sonics that analog format brings. I guess eve...

Chris, I just read your post again where you say you try not to run the vacuum any more than possible. That could be part of the problem, leaving wet residue on the LP to dry out and cause noise. I vacuum my LP's six or seven revolutions after each...

If the LP's were damaged by playing them dirty, played with a defective stylus or just worn out, there is no record cleaning machine that will resolve the problem. Same as a scratched (skipping) DVD or CD, once damaged it is difficult or impossibl...

Vvrinc, that made me laugh out loud, I'm not kidding, it was wonderful.

"Honey, I'm going to buy these 7-foot, 300lbs/side speakers and put them in the LR"That's EXACTLY what I did (except mine are 7.5 feet :^), only I didn't tell her until my son and I were installing them in the living room. Her comment:"Those are s...

Has digital come close to or beat up analog yet ?
Hey Mike, I'm an analog guy all the way (look at my system). Truth is though, bad phono, bad set up and / or bad cartridge and a high end digital and the roles can be reversed. One of my best friends in my audio group has a CEC TL1X and an Audio No...
Purist Dominus Ferox vs. Liquid
Twopippis, you know how to ask the tough questions :^). Both versions are excellent, I have each type in my system right now. The fluid versions are more liquid (not a pun) in the midrange and have a slightly softer overall presentation. The Ferox ...

Agree completely with Dvavc. Quality of the product and set up is everything. Possible to get great sound with both formats, possible to get crap sound out of both.
Walker Audio high def links?
Walker HDL and Ultimate HDL both worked wonders on my Sound-Lab U-1's. After I switched to Dali Megaline the difference was slight, but still worthwhile.I have the BOB modules here too. I tried them only on my Dali's as Sound-Labs had been sold be...

Duke did the Sound LABs survive?
Duke, that's good news when most of what were hearing and reading is bad. Selfishly, I'm glad you and Richard are safe, and encourage you to find a way to visit Pat. He traveled here for short stay and we had a blast, a true music lover and a grea...
Duke did the Sound LABs survive?
I know you and Richard are good friends, is his home far enough inland to be safe from the flood waters? I too am sorry for the Crescent city, I not only honeymooned there, I traveled there many times for pleasure and business, including Mardi Gra...
