Your experience of moving to two subs
Plus 1. 3 subs in my system, 2 LR front and 1 in back left of MLP. Helps to minimize null points and cut room mode issues.
Ethernet Cables
@panzrwagn Well said. Ethernet is not a waveform, and it cares not what type of copper it’s sent over; if it shows up intact, that is the best you will get. So it’s pointless to buy expensive ethernet cables if you hear a difference is purely ...
Ethernet opinions
@audphile1 LOL. Seriously, if you knew the distance the lowly packet has traveled over the untold number of switches and converters from and to fiber and Ethernet over copper, Your 25' of expensive cable is meaningless. The Data is the data; it’s...
Audio Research Owners Worried?
AR gear is simple to work on, a very minimalist design and lay out, I would not fear their demise, that is the beauty of tube gear. Easy to understand circuits and ready parts supply.
Ethernet opinions
Ethernet is Ethernet you’ll have zero gain if you use an expensive cable. As long as your cable is well made, not a cast away from a data center. You’re at as good as it gets. Ethernet packets don’t care what copper they run on, it’s basically 3 p...
Is a home theater even worth it or doable?
@emergingsoul  next to adding a Trinnov the kscape is the biggest improvement to my system. Flat out I’ll pick the kscape first and only stream a series or occasionally movies unavailable to buy for the kscape system. Often I’ve bought titles that...
Is a home theater even worth it or doable?
What is your budget? Are ok buying on the secondary market? I have both in the same room, with XLR switch for HT bypass for Vinyl from my 2ch gear. Our house is open concept, the HT\2Ch is in the corner of the  L shapped floor plan. Its amazing bo...
Hooking up two preamps to one power amp
Does that amp have an XLR RCA toggle in the back? Can it accept both inputs live and at the same time? If so, I doubt your XRL is a true balanced. Perhaps it has some auto-switching when you plug in the XLR. I built my own XLR switch to toggle my ...
DAW vs Alexia 1 vs Sasha 2, descending order of $$
I am indeed still enjoying my Sophia 1, a humble speaker in the Wilson family. I still think about "upgrades" Yvette or Sabrina X, or DAW, the Alxia which is too large for my room as is the Sasha if I am honest. I recently replaced all the resisto...
When were the best tube amps made?
I would suspect Lamm has built one of the finest tube amps ever.
Has anyone been able to define well or measure differences between vinyl and digital?
I love having both, but prefer my vinyl setup when I am in the mood to be fully involved in the listening. I also love my cassatte tape system, even though its noisy but that pure analog has some magic. My go to Daily system is all Digital via Roo...
Ditching Class A Amps due to Heat - Sort of a Poll
I recent sold off my excellent Classe' Audio Omega Mono's that did Pure Class A to 30% rated power, at 200lbs per amp they were never more than warm no matter how i played them. They did take a few hours to fully warm. I decided to try Trinnov AMP...
Mesh network versus a simple Wi-Fi extender
I suggest that mesh is the best if you have low interference; things like Microwaves (kitchen) and other devices generate noise and can attribute slow to no network information. Modern equipment falls back to the lowest speed to compensate and, if...
Snake oil of the year?
I'm in the engineers camp, 25 years in IT; there is nothing a fancy switch can do to change the packet to make it sound better than an inexpensive switch, as mentioned earlier in this thread. Anyone who uses Qobuz or Tidal, even Pandora, your data...
Improvement in Musicality for home theater system
I run a 2 channel tube pre with an XLR switch to bypass my processor (Trinnov AL16). The only time I use the tube is when playing vinyl or cassette tapes. The Trinnov does digital very well, the room correction is excellent. When setting up the sy...
