what dacs are fast, lively, energetic?
@audiocanada, I use a Chord TT2 DAC with a Chord Hugo Mscaler in a system that I put together from isolated wall outlet to my Focal Utopia hp’s and my living room speakers specifically because I enjoy Chord’s speed, musicality, instrument separati...
DAC for Aurender N200
@hickamore, if I was looking for a DAC to pair with an Aurender N200 I’d seriously look at the Chord Dave.
DAC for Aurender N200
@hickamore, which of the DACs that have been mentioned attract your attention the most? Are you looking for sonic accuracy, musicality, reference quality neutral presentation, or a shiny powered box that weighs 20lbs sitting somewhere near the res...
DAC for Aurender N200
@hickamore, my suggestion would be to audition the best DAC that you can afford and that sounds good to you. Streamers don’t mean a thing unless they’re sending the bits to an equivalently capable DAC.
Streamers and software
@daledeee1, I’m all about the seamless integration of my music into the usability of the software that plays it. Roon undoubtedly has the best streaming software on the market right now IMO. People say it’s too expensive. Okay then let’s do the si...
DAC shopping - Trying to sift through the Hype. Can I trust the reviews these days ??
I say get a used Chord TT2 DAC. Here’s one that I found on eBay. I’ve got one as the heart of my system and I absolutely love it. https://www.ebay.com/itm/356280491805?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=Z5tP63kISuO&sssr...
AQ Blizzard or Thunder?
@calvinandhobbes, you’re welcome sir. First just look at the difference in the two cables construction. I’ve always felt that your best power cable should the one that goes into its own isolated wall socket. If you don’t have the cleanest electric...
Roon isn't stable and they edit their forum to hide it
Like @carlsbad2. I haven’t had any issues with Roon in the four years that I’ve been using a Roon Nucleus Rev B server to store my core and play music.
UPGRADE PATH FROM CHORD QUTEST DAC
@kjl1065, after I had become infatuated with the sound of my Chord Qutest, the logical next step up for me was to acquire a TT2, which I got at a fantastic price by trading the almost new Qutest for a floor model TT2. Shortly thereafter the mother...
So, I bought a Chord Hugo TT2...now what?
@arvincastro, my Chord TT2 DAC is the heart of my music streaming system, I use it with a Chord m scaler and a pair of WAVE High Fidelity Storm BNC cables as interconnects. Both the TT2 and m scaler use Sbooster 15-16v linear power supply units. I...
UPGRADE PATH FROM CHORD QUTEST
@kjl1065, I had a Qutest before I upgraded to a Chord TT2/m scaler combo. The Qutest is a great little DAC that I wish I still owned because it’s such a neat little piece of audio kit. Have you tried using an aftermarket power supply for your Qute...
Solo streamer
@rvpiano, I see that the Aurender N200 is Roon Ready. I also listen to predominantly classical music with a focus on opera and I’ve found that for me Roon has the best OS out there right now. Maybe think about giving it a try.
Solo streamer
@rvpiano, I hope your new Aurender N200 arrives soon in one piece so that you can tell us what you think of it. I became aware of the Aurender line through the folks at Upscale Audio out in California. They had nothing but praise for the N200 when...
Upgrade Digital Cable Review
+1 @audioman58. Rob and Rich at Network Acoustics have been my go to when I needed guidance in setting up my dedicated music streaming platform. They’ve been unbelievably kind and helpful.
Upgrade Digital Cable Review
I use a single WAVE High Fidelity Storm BNC cable between my music server and my Chord Hugo M Scaler because it helps to dissipate even more RFI/EMI from making its way into my Chord TT2 DAC which is the heart of my music listening setup. From my ...
