Sharing my excitement........new Rega P3-24 table
As promised.....updated system photos showing my beautiful new analog front end.
Sharing my excitement........new Rega P3-24 table
Hey Guys...........I need to mention that the audition protocol that Rich described was, for me, quite a learning experience. Sonny Rollins' "I'm an Old Cowhand" ("Way Out West" with Ray Brown and Shelley Manne) and Bill Evans' "Waltz for Debbie" ...
Neil Young Live at Massey Hall 200 g LP,
So...both CD and LP sound great. Which should I buy ? Will the music sound better on my Rotel RCD-1072 CD deck (which is a HDCD player) or on my Rega P3-24 turntable ?
Sharing my excitement........new Rega P3-24 table
Thanks for the positive responses so far. As you all know by my many previous threads, I do indeed "enjoy the music," and it's great to now have a TT that will make my record collection sound so much better. And, yes, Piedpiper, I did audition the...
$ 2500 ....Stay with Vandersteens ??...what else ?
Wow, Mrtennis............Very insightful philosophical thoughts. These ideas can be extended to quite a few realms far beyond audio decisions. Well said, sir !
Rega P3-24, Pro-Ject RM-5, or Technics 1200?
Very good explanation, Learsfool, and good question, Tvad....... From what I've gathered by reading a gazillion reviews of Rega TT's in preparation for my upcoming purchase of a brand new Rega P3-24 with a Rega Exact cartridge mounted and set up b...
$ 2500 ....Stay with Vandersteens ??...what else ?
Mrtennis....In an ideal world, YES...the auditioning process is a fantastic idea. However, many of us live in areas where it isn't possible to audition "as many products as you can afford" due to a total lack of quality audio dealers within reason...
Vandersteen 1 in the nearfield, for rock music?
YES......For me, my Vandy 1C's work wonderfully with all music. Deep Purple's "Made in Japan" or the Allman Brothers' "Live at Fillmore East" or the Dead's "Dick's Picks" stuff sounds just as amazing as Miles Davis and Sonny Rollins and Dave Brubeck.
$ 2500 ....Stay with Vandersteens ??...what else ?
Rogue Audio and Vandersteen seem to be a wonderful match. I really love my Vandy 1C's with the Cronus, and will probably upgrade to the 2Ce Sig. II's as the budget allows. For now, I'm busy upgrading my analog front end, and am about to sell my NA...
Rega P3-24..........w/ Exact or Dynavector 10x5 ?
Hey Guys......I just spoke with Mark O'Brien at Rogue Audio, and he says that a high output MC cartridge (2.5 mV) will NOT be a problem with my Rogue Cronus' built-in phono stage (35 dB gain). So....the Dynavector 10x5 and the Rega Exact 2 should ...
Grado Reference Sonata on a Rega P5 ?
Thanks guys......I'll probably be exploring the Dynavector 10x5 and Benz-Micro ACE S H as good matches for the Rega P5. "Bang for the buck" thinking will probably favor the 10x5.
Denon 110 on Rega P5: nice
To continue with some questions.......besides what Learsfool has asked, are you using a spacer under the tonearm base ? What's in the rest of your system ? I've been thinking of the Dynavector 10x5 and the Benz ACE S H as MC possibilities for the ...
Music Hall CD-25.2 VS Rega Apollo VS Rotel 1072???
I've been truly enjoying my Rotel RCD-1072 for almost a year now, and I am extremely impressed by the pure musicality of its presentation. The songs appear from a totally quiet background, and the PRAT factor is realistic and incredibly engaging. ...
SOTA Comet --- Opinions please.
Hey, for the kind of money that we're spending these days on our components, esthetics does indeed play a role in our audiophile hobby. Just like a beautiful interior doesn't make your car drive any better, it sure does add to the overall enjoymen...
SOTA Comet --- Opinions please.
Hi Desmondjim......This turntable purchase is one that I want to be happy with for quite a while. So, perhaps, I'll more fully explore the Technics SL-1200. Hi Elinor.....I appreciate your advice on a "wiser move" with a better table at this point...
