resolution audio
I have owned both the Levinson 39 and both models of Res Audio. They are all great but the CD 50 is still my reference player.

I have owned both and would have to agree with you.Neither of them are as good as the Nordost Quattro-Fil though
How are Von Schweikert speakers?
I presently own the VR7's and have owned the VR6's. They are just the best damn speakers out there. I went from my VR6's to the Talon Khorus' which is a terrific speaker. Yet something was always missing. I got the VR7's and I am just completely t...

It is available in one unit. Von Schweikert VR 7's have all the tranparency of my Maggies with wonderful low end authority flat to 22hz.
Good, Inexpensive CD w. Volume control?
Without a doubt Resolution Audio CD 50 but you'll have to up the budget to around $1500 if you can find one. It replaced a Levinson 39 in my system
