KEF's meta material gimmick?
seanheis1, Typical conventional tweeters are sealed in the back, so Revel (and most other speaker companies) are doing nothing about the energy radiating from the back of the tweeter diaphram.
A phenomenal new CD transport-Pro-Ject CD Box RS2 transport
I read somewhere that Pro-Ject is not using PS Audio's I2S pinout in their implementation.  So only the companion Pro-Ject DAC is designed to work with their cd transport.
Holo Audio May DAC
I thought my May DAC started to sound good at 100 hours, but the sound really does become exceptional after the reccomended 500 hours of break in.  Also keep in mind that DSD and PCM are handled by separate parts of the DAC, so if you just play 50...
GaN based SU-R1000 Technics Integrated Class-D, review by TAS
I guess HiFi World's review helps balance out TAS's overly positive review of the SU -R1000.I was stuck listening to my SU-G30 for a month while waiting for a new amp and actually gained a new appreciation for the ultra clean sound of Technic's Ga...
Coda Class A Amplifiers
I really like the look of the VU meters on my CODA  #8 amp, but I can also imagine that  some people might find the illumination overpowering in a darkened room.
Speaker brands known to use first class internal components
Many years ago I recall seeing a picture of Kef's Reference 5 speaker that was cut open, and the crossover was gigantic and expensive looking.  This made me feel better about the Reference 1 speakers that I purchased.
Another GaN smaller integrated, Technics SU-G30 has everything bar the kitchen sink.
The G30  never sold very well to begin with.   Now that the newer, much better looking, and cheaper SU-G700 Mk2  is coming out, there doesn't seem much need for the G30 (which is also pretty old at this point).
New Technics SU-G700 Mk II on the horizon
I think that will be a fantastic product at that price point.  It will have both good looks and good sound.   :)

I have used the DLNA compatibility to wirelessly stream music off of a Sony HAP-Z1ES server, but I found that I greatly preferred the sound quality of something directly connected to the unit (like a CD player or music directly off a USB drive).  ...

I actually have this model and have been using it as my main source of amplification while waiting for a new amplifier to arrive (one of my JC-1s broke).  I think it is quite a good value used (about $2K) since you can just plug in a digital sourc...
HDCD To MacMini To Ayre QB9 Twenty DAC
You can use the program dBpoweramp to rip the CD to a 24 bit flac,  that way you can use any dac to play the file and not loose any of the dynamic range that HDCD offers.
Magico A1 vs KEF Reference 1 (META) vs KEF LS50 + KEF KC62
I would have reservations about using the Reference 1 speakers on a shelf, unless the shelf is absolutely rock solid.  The KEFs can put out a significant amout of bass (for their size), so I would worry about the shelf shaking or resonating with a...
What is the #1 equipment want currently on your HiFi horizon???
Yamaha NS-5000 speakers and some sort of amplifier to power them.    :)
Battery backup
A double conversion UPS (which *only* provides AC power from a battery powered inverter) can provide high quality power for stereo equipment.  The fan noise probably makes them unsuitable for audiophiles without some sort of modification though.
Reviewing the fabulous Silversmith Fidelium Speaker Cables
Ozzy,I wonder if the sound would have improved if you had run the cables for longer.  My Fideliums sounded similar to what you described just described when they were new, but the sound did improve after many hours of break in.
