Do you indulge when listening to your rig?
I certainly appreciated the combination of music and pot while in college in the 70's, but I haven't used pot since. These days, I look forward to listening at night, with a couple fingers of good scotch.
Do we still need 6550 or KT88 tubes?
Mikha65, thanks, I'm glad to hear there's another option for the VT100. I had been told the 120 would not work because of the horizontal orientation of the tubes.
Alarm Clock with Audiophile Grade Sound?
I have a Squeezebox Radio and a Proton (with its active extension speaker). The Squeezebox sounds much better, IMO. The Squeezebox is much more versatile, since it pulls in digital stations from all over the world and streams from my computer. The...
Do we still need 6550 or KT88 tubes?
I'm told the KT120 has a bigger bottle and won't fit in my ARC VT100, so I'll continue using 6550's unless I hear differently. Also use 6550's in my guitar amp.

Established Artists: Hidden Gems/Classic Rock
I haven't heard REO Speedwagon's 9 Lives, but I would add REO T.W.O. to the list

I've been listening again to rock bands with brass and have really enjoyed re-discovering them. Chicago "3" for starters.Blood Sweat and Tears "3" and "4" both underappreciated, I think.Along those lines, Chase "Pure Music", Lighthouse "One Fine M...
Best overall Stravinski - Rites of Spring...
I enjoy the RR recording by Eiji Oue and the Minnesota Orch and the Telarc version by Maazel and Cleveland Orch, but I'm glad for the other recommendations. It's a timely post as I will be hearing the ROS by the Colorado Symphony tomorrow (Saturday...

great speaker buys on Craigslist
Hey, how many watts do they produce?
Time of listening session?
My best opportunites to listen come on the weekend. Saturday morning usually begins with bluegrass and Sunday is opera.
