Will our MC for the festivities gain the stage?
Yes, Marty, I had had been in e-mail discussions with Tom with respect to the Shelter pickups, among others. I posted here because I thought others may have the same general issues.I had come to some conclusions, based on faulty info I had receive...
Will our MC for the festivities gain the stage?
I am not sure what I am geting from the line stage, Tom, but I will check. But, if I am getting the same 20dB as you are, then I would have a total of 75dB and be in the same "league", no?
Digitally remastered vinyl?
Fagen's "Nightfly" IS a good example, Onhwy61. I have a Japanese pressing of this LP it is one of the better sounding LP's I've heard of any kind. Sadly, these examples are MOST rare/
Where are you? Do you know what your FM is doing?
Oh, I live in the South Bay Area of California, Silicon Valley. Multipath heaven (hell?). Would be worth sifting through if 99% of it weren't compressed rock, oldies, and classic rock. There is only one classical music FM station that I know of bu...
Who is your overall favorite guitarist?
The Geo. Goble reference is rather apt, really. Well, maybe not in the context of guitar virtuosity, but.... My uncle has often told the story of being in the military and being stationed with George Gobel. Apparently, he carried around a beat up ...
would this Deter you from buying used gear????
I'm down with the idea of welding a plate on the back of the unit and declare it mandatory that each owner personally engrave his or her info upon same plate. Some of the items I've seen offered would begin to look like the Stanley Cup.
Best device for adjusting cartridge overhang.
I, too, have used the Turntable Basics model to good effect both setup-wise and budget-wise. I took a flier and bought one via E-Bay and subsequently found that Turntable Basics had a number of other worthwhile gizmos. Worth a look.
Who is your overall favorite guitarist?
As soon as I decide on one, I think of others.I like Wes Montogmery A LOT.But, overall, I gotta go with Steve Howe. Too many memories, and he is still going even stronger today.
Marsh A400s or McCormackDNA225?
I agree with Albert on all three of his views: that the DNA-225 is a great value, that the DNA-225 is reliable, and that Steve McCormack is a great guy who will go out of his way to be helpful.I have owned my DNA-225 for about one year and its per...
Record sleeves?
Dekay, 50 at a whack? You've the patience of Job and the stamina of Sampson. That, or a VPI Hw17.
Desperately Seeking.......at whatever cost........
I, too, checked the same site as Albert and found 4 Lp's and 3 CD's of the same title, the info of which I e-mailed to Mlawitm. Mlawitm subsequently said he couldn't access the site. I've never had such trouble. Anyone else?
Real Stinkers
Seems much harder to pick the worst than the best due to the very painful amout of time required for a proper comparison. At the very beginning of time spent with an old girlfriend, she touted Henry Gross like he was the second coming. Oh, I just ...
Best way to connect BDR Cones to equipment?
Don't forget to try your BDR cones in "both directions". I flipped mine over (pointed end UP) under my amp and the improvement was amazing.
Fav Consecutive Albums by An Artist
I would also add that you can pretty much jump in anywhere among Art Pepper's long list of LP's and count off one consecutive gem after another....
OHM Speakers?
I had a pair of C2's that I enjoyed very much from 1977 to about 1985. They got put away and, eventually, the surrounds on the drivers disintegrated. I sent the drivers to Ohm about 6 months ago and they sent me refurbished and updated drivers for...
