Fluids for VPI cleaner -- any horror stories?
Buy only Record Research fluids and you will have no worries of any sort.
Used Morch DP-6 or modified Origin Live Silver?
Doug, I don't think that you will have issues with a little too much gain, especially if you consulted with Mr. Chapman regarding your stepup (agreed, a great guy). Put the pressure on for quicker delivery of that Teres. :-) What is taking the OL ...
Why can't I hear 20 years of phono 'progress'??
Doug sez:"If you have something to offer him, please do so."But, he don't, so he won't. The fact that your are relatively new here, Doug, explains why you are not yet able to consistently ignore these posts (hard for me, too). Just comfort yoursel...
New Yes Remasters?
Tom, the earliest red/plum UK Atlantic versions of "Album" and "Fragile" show up from time to time on E-Bay and generally finish at somewhere between $25-60, depending on condition. You can find one sometimes on gemm.com and they are almost always...
Arm Differences ...... ,etc.
Well, Oz, I did. But I also have one now.I've had the Mat1 for only one week and have not logged enough time yet to make definitive appraisal.
Arm Differences ...... ,etc.
Marty, I am not running a linear arm. My post meant to allude to the fact that while I appreciate the benefit of a GOOD linear tracker, I can't afford to pony up for one. :-( I am running a 'Not Spacedeck with an OL Illustrious. Very nice performa...
Arm Differences ...... ,etc.
Marty and Tom are correct, of course. My apologies to Richard for considering only my setup with respect to the linear arms.
Arm Differences ...... ,etc.
I don't think that the advantages of a linear tracking arm are much of a secret, dirty or clean. Given a much larger discretionary budget.....
Anyone using Schroeder arms? Opinions pls.
Yes, there was a custom board drilled. I like the SME arms, myself. Will contact you with further detail.
Anyone using Schroeder arms? Opinions pls.
Perhaps that is YOUR level of understanding, oh festering, flatulent feline, but don’t drag the rest of us down to your low level of literacy.Chris, I heard a Schroeder at a dealer’s during a rather long comparison of arms and tables over a period...
New Yes Remasters?
No prob, Ben. The orignal poster was referring to CD is referring to Rhino. My bad, actually.Driver, in retrospect, I think the Joe Gastwirt remasters are all actaully superior to Rhino's except for "Album" with about a tie with respect to "CTTE".
New Yes Remasters?
WOW, there are more Yes fans than I figured. Here is a link to the Yes catalog that can be downloaded. Kudos to Paul Cobb for going to this massive amount of effort. The catalog is now updated through 2003!!!! At 313 pages I doubt you'll find a mo...
New Yes Remasters?
Slipknot1 and Nrchy, I have not found any pressings of "Tales" that are any better than the first UK pressing. It is my least favorite of the Yes catalog, aside from "Revealing", so I am a bit biased. A larger Yes fan you will not likely find, tho...
Wheaton Tri-Planar arms ........
I had a friend who owned the Triplanar V. The description that Teres makes is pretty accurate to the memory of my ear. It was what I'd consider an "up front" arm, very dynamic, anything but laid back. I can understand where Teres would suggest tho...
Is this a male hobby or are there females bitten
Wow! What a breath of fresh air. There hasn't been a thread characterized by wild generalizations and straw-man logic here in awhile.Oy
