Cutting Digital Tracks Into Smaller Pieces Thanks, Ketchup. I tried it and liked it. I also tried one called Cool Edit that I found after posting which I like, too. Thanks again.
Help with a complete vinyl setup about $2,500 Well, I suppose that anyone who refers to the thousands of folks who own a 16.5 or 17 as limp-wristed, speaks volumes about themself, and that should suffice. But, if you are really feeling froggish sometime and are not just limp-lipped, you name ...
Ridge Street Audio MSE Gen.ll speaker cable I will second what Lak has said, having done the same comparison - and in comparison to AZ Satoris and Holos and Red Dawns. The Midnights have been just the ticket for me in my SS and tube system. I use the IC's too and they were better then SEVER...
Help with a complete vinyl setup about $2,500 Ridiculous limp-wristed references aside, (funny how bold people are with the personal comments when they are not face to face with someone, especially when they'd probably find themselves on their kiester otherwise) I like the DD stuff as a low-c...
Help with a complete vinyl setup about $2,500 I'd consider doing what Jphii says, except I'd opt for the Nottingham Horizon w/RB-250 (sorry Teres lovers but I don't think the 135 does any better than the Horizon). With the money saved, I'd buy a VPI 16.5 vacuum RCM.
Do not use stock jumpers Although it seems not to be a very popular idea, I continue to think that, if you don't mind popping the terminal cover on your speakers, it is far better to wire the top and bottom directly to the same pair of terminals, as opposed to using a jum...
Suggestions for 45 rpm purchases? I will second Albert's suggestion of the Time Out '45. Very nice, indeed. I will also disassociate myself from the "production" camp - basically because I don't have a clue what they mean. I happen to think that a majority of the 45's sound incred...
Graham Nightingale, anyone? Joe, I heard one of these setups BRIEFLY about two weeks ago in an SME 30. Associated equipment was equally high-end and my listening session was ever so brief, but it sounded GREAT!As I understand it, the cartridge is a joint venture of sorts bet...
Say it aint so--- Teres quality question I debated on whether to post to this thread again because I suppose it is really none of my business. However, I will share what I have seen only because I don't want it to seem like Patrick is off his rocker, here, or anything. I was one of those...
What's your favorite lyric from a song? Another that I like is from Janis Ian's "At Seventeen":The small town eyes will gape at youIn dull surpriseWhen payment dueExceeds accounts receivedAt seventeen
LP Cataloging Software? I took the plunge and ordered the "Pro" version. They send a CD to you in the mail which upgrades the standard version to "Pro" and contains the database. In the meantime they allow one to download the standard version. Since, I cataloged my entir...
Can we have an "Ask Sean" catagory? As long as Slappy asks the questions and Sean gives the answers. :-)
Is vinyl dead ? I've tried that several times Albert and, curiously, I've received no LP's! :-)
LP Cataloging Software? Oh, I think you may be exactly right, Wes. Thanks!! I had missed your response in that previous post. The only drawback I see is that it is still a CD-based database and one would have to delete songs on a CD that are not on an LP and rearrange th...
Essential TT/Cartridge Set up tools Bombaywall, I'll speak for myself and let Doug correct me if this isn't also what he meant. With the scale I have, it is a bit "thinner" than the height of the platter + a "standard" LP thickness. My scale isn't magnetic, so I put pad of just the ... |
