Lead shots for speaker stand. I do business with an industrial supplier that carries lead shot in 9 sizes. Size #9 (.080") through .440". McMaster Carr Supply, New Brunswick NJ, 732-329-3200. Pricing is about $50 per 25 lb bag.
Monitors are falling I do plan on my child having limits and rules ... unlike some of our friend's kids. I just need to make sure that a tumbling monitor doesn't seriously injure my kid as she chases the dog or a friend around the living room.
Monitors are falling I want to thank all who have responded!! Unfortunately, 60 year old oak floors preclude any sinking or screwing with stands. The Logans were on my short list prior to this, but I am worried about stability ... any comments from ML A owners?

AMP for 804 Nautilus Recently auditioned the 804 with Classe amp ... very nice to my ears. Try a tube front end with a good solid state amp? If you like it, buy it. If you don't like it go elsewhere. If you're really into the toob sound, the N804 will reveal the diffe...
Why are optical cables jitter prone? Light is a very good medium for transmission. How the light is created is the problem. Inexpensive toslink based light sources spray the light at the end of the cable at a very wide angle. Inside the cable, the light travels mutiple paths (multi m...

Awsome Remote?? Be sure to really check that the Dish receiver takes only UHF ... I'm not sure what which Dish unit I have, but it takes both IR & UHF. I use the Marantz 2000 MkII remote. You have to teach it, but the time investment is minimal and very worth...
Speaker suggestion for 600. Rayasa, I am using B&W CDM1SEs with great results in a room of identical volume. If you look around you should be able to score a pair of these in you budget. Other electronics in my system are an Adcom GFA-555 and a Conrad Johnson Premier 2. |
