Best option for Amp upgrade...
If you could find a pair of Parasound JC1’s at at your price point, I would think that would give you better sound and more power (current). Not to mention it is designed by a legend in the field. BTW I have the A21 stereo amp and liked it better ...
Which audio component would you like Santa to place under the christmas tree for you?
You guys crack me up. I have a hard time believing all of you have been THAT good to ask Santa for these audio gems. MBL setup, Paradigm Concept 4, Burmeister, VAC statement?? Perhaps good enough for a Bose Wave radio, maybe???HaHa  But yes...one ...
REL Vs SVS for 2 channel music listening
I agree with about 98.5% of what akg_ca just posted. The short version might be, pick a very good stereo speaker system that integrates a sub and amp into the design first. If you do not do this you must find an additional subwoofer/low bass syste...
REL Vs SVS for 2 channel music listening
REL or Vandersteen. Had a Rythmik and SVS. Did not like build quality of Rythmik and SVS customer service was very bad, driver failed on SVS. I have heard great things about JL Audio, and I would try them myself someday. My thinking now is to keep ...
Pass Labs XA30.5 -> Line Magnetic 508ia?
Yeah it is unfortunate about the experience with LM Audio. I bought the little 216ia after listening at a local dealer im Cleveland, Ohio. I was impressed by this new brand he was showing as was he. I luved it, still do, but it had a transformer f...
Which audio component would you like Santa to place under the christmas tree for you?
mesch, Yes the Vault would be a great addition to any stereo system. Very versatile and in my experience Bluesound offers tremendous customer service. I am big on audio companies who back their brand, their equipment!
Which audio component would you like Santa to place under the christmas tree for you?
The post question is very clear. “Which audio component would you like Santa to place under the christmas tree for you?”Since this is an audio forum, there should not be a way to make any offending remarks about women. I have a sense of humor, but...
why do people feel the need to buy expensive cable
The title of your topic seems to want to start arguments or fights because it is so controversial. If you have found your own answers to that question then why would drag the topic through the mud?BTW where I grew up people called potatoes, potato...
Need direction for moving CD collection to hard disc
+1 uberwaltz. The Vault is a tremendous device, designed and made as the kind of audio gear you seem to be looking for. I went for Bluesound because it enabled me to get away from the computer and ITunes for music playback over my stereo. I did no...
Album Recommendations for Magnepans
rjb1101There are some good choices for listening to MQA. For many the Meridian Explorer is a simple computer solution. For myself, I purchased a Bluesound Node 2 for a dedicated streaming and bridge for digital files on a hard drive. I have many r...
Michael Fremer's system
I agree with others here. One cannot pretend to add, subtract or keep any gear he has because he is an audio equipment review professional with a major magazine. Beside that, everyone has their own ear, their own tastes for sound. Additionally, he...
What is your favorite budget audio component?
effisher-I had wondered about that VTA on-the-fly tonearm?? That must be a GREAT bargain at it’s price for analog listeners. Awesome addition to the list.
What is your favorite budget audio component?
Forgot to mention one of mine, Magnepan MMGs at 599$ new. Really a great way to get into Hi-Fi without spending 1k$+. Let’s face it we don’t all have tons of cash for our audio systems. Why not explore budget gear that shines and many, many people...

Need direction for moving CD collection to hard disc
An outside the box idea.... don’t rip any music you have to a HDD or any drive. Get a subscription to the music service/server you like, such as Spotify or Tidal, and find + save all the albums that match your CD and SACD collection you have, to f...
