Who thinks $5K speaker cable really better than generic 14AWG cable? B&W with Emotiva? Uh-oh.
Replacing Emotiva XPA-2 & XPA-5 power amps in HT system with class D Uberwaltz, I must have missed your post in which you mention purchasing the Nuforce. It sounds like quite an upgrade. I experienced a similar improvement over my Emotiva XPA amp a few years ago. I too have a separate 2 channel set up and found ...
Who thinks $5K speaker cable really better than generic 14AWG cable? To be sure it's clear, my previous post was not making or implying an argument against silver. It was simply saying that the fact that silver has a slightly higher conductivity/lower resistivity than copper, which is often cited as an argument in...
Replacing Emotiva XPA-2 & XPA-5 power amps in HT system with class D There are several brands that feature class D. Wyred 4 Sound. Bel Canto, Red Dragon, Class D Audio. Although for your purposes, Wyred and Class D audio would be the best option for multi channel amps(buying 2 of the 4 channel Class D audio).
Who thinks $5K speaker cable really better than generic 14AWG cable? Dynaquest, of course you found the article to be objective. Al, yes I’ve heard the arguments against silver. We could play that game all day. You upsize your copper and shorten the length, then I upsize my silver and shorten the length. The proble...
Who thinks $5K speaker cable really better than generic 14AWG cable? Dynaquest, you obviously have no idea what the costs may be. You’re just guessing and extrapolating from there, and that’s not useful to the discussion. My above comments on consumer protection laws still stands. The above comment about silver f...
Who thinks $5K speaker cable really better than generic 14AWG cable? The idea that a manufacturer can "choose" to sell $5/ft(their cost) cable for $750/ft shows a complete ignorance of basic economics. Also ignorance of the expense of exotic cable designs, and the cost of high purity silver, now that I think of it...
Who thinks $5K speaker cable really better than generic 14AWG cable? 213runnin, I am not an attorney, but I would respectfully disagree that selling a $50 cable for $5,000 and saying it is one of the worlds best would be running afoul of any consumer laws. There will always be someone who purchased the cable who w...
Who thinks $5K speaker cable really better than generic 14AWG cable? You are free to believe whatever you like. I don’t think lawsuits are ever likely because all the cables work and are generally not harmful. Since when did someone successfully sue a vendor for selling a $50 product for $5000 or $4950 profit .... ...
Who thinks $5K speaker cable really better than generic 14AWG cable? I've got some disturbing news, in that case. Tannoy Loudspeakers has been in the business for a lot longer than Bryston. They use all manner of "cable jewellry" wire in their speakers. Personally, I don't need to hear what amp or speaker makers...
Replacing Parasound p7, but with what? By the way, thanks for all of your contributions, in reading this thread, some things became apparent on my part. A) I did most of my posts at work between calls and things vying for my time. As I tried to figure out at work what was going on at...
Who thinks $5K speaker cable really better than generic 14AWG cable? Too late.I'm proud to say I just spent $150 on some Silver Stager Solids, IC's that look so cheap, yet the sound is better than my $300 cables. I say that those forcing their views on anyone not of their belief should read this thread repeatedly ...
Replacing Parasound p7, but with what? Oops, sorry. When you quoted my comment about the car system, I assumed you were referring to the car tweeters. The home speaker tweeters are not damaged either.
Replacing Parasound p7, but with what? No sir, the tweeters are fine. When I tuned the system I needed little gain on them because they are in the corners of the dash and project into the cabin almost too well with the windshield. They are crossed over at 3000, so a lot of the voice ...
Replacing Parasound p7, but with what? Okay, I just finished A/B'ing different cd players to see if my spare had any more top end or air than the one in my main system. There was no difference that I could tell. It's something that I can't figure out, and I'm one of those people who ... |
