Which Bedini?? Small class A or a bigger one? I use to own a Bedini 25/25 and Ampzilla II. The little bedini had a VERY smooth, liquid, seductive sound. Some bad recordings actually were not hard to listen to with the bedini. The only caveat I had with the bedini, it seemed to have a shallow soundstage...i.e, not as deep as other amps. The midrange of the Ampzilla was very accurate and sounds to me like todays very expensive amps. Saxophone, vocal, piano...spot on. The Ampzilla has deeper bass than the bedini...but the bedini sounded more tube like in the bottom end....seductive again. The highs of the bedini were to die for...the ampzilla...little transitory (spitty) on the top end. Hope this helps...if you are looking at these amps I would try to find a Sumo 9....it is somewhere in between these two in sound. Larry
Thanks for your response ! Yes, I actually thought the bigger bedinis because of my diapasons confirm your request. The ampzilla II is strong enough to easily drive the Diapason. but the Bedini 100/100 or biger brother would be sufficient. I just don`t know which one? I'm thinking about is the new Q series, but there is no information on the net. Do you think it would be worthwhile to try out the new Q series? I find them very easy to Bedini but it does not change anything I mean deterioration in the quality of sound ! The ampzilla II Reference and Reference thaedra preamp would be a great match to but it`s more expensive !

I have a rebuilt example of all the GAS gear except Godzilla. The best by a significant margin is the 256wpch. GAS 500. The 80wpch. Son Of Ampzilla is better than the 200wpch. Ampzillas, regardless of which version. I also own a 100/100 Bedini but have owned several different ones over the past 10 years. The GAS gear all have a similar signature as do the Bedinis. I've had the 25/25, 150MKII, 250/250 and as I stated, still own the 100/100. IMO, the GAS gear is a notch above the Bedini. They are faster with more low level resolution/extension, better bottom end/control, livelier mid-range. However, I found the opposite to be true regarding Apfdirtdoctor's take on the Bedinis. IMO, they have a huge sound stage. So much so that you are engulfed in it! Also, I find the top end of the Bedinis lacking in resolution with a little more sibilance than what I would consider acceptable by today's standards. Tonally beautiful but fatiguing when turned up loud. The GAS gear on the other hand have no such issues. Very fast, fine transients. By no means spitty or grainy. Great imaging. Easy to listen to turned up loud. Rebuilt/ upgraded GAS gear rivals anything out there.
