Absorbing traffic noise with Helmholtz resonators (video)

Interesting talk.
@mahgister  will like!

"These Bricks Can Absorb Traffic Noise - Thesis Presentation on Helmholtz Resonators"

"I gave a talk on my Masters Thesis Project in Architecture focusing on Altering Soundscapes in Exterior Environments using Helmholtz Resonators in Ceramic Bricks to absorb Low Frequency Traffic Noise.

I recently graduated from @BartlettArchUCL at University College London and was invited to give a talk on my project for the Portland Digital Fabrication Club in Portland."

Those that scoff have no ground. I’d love to experiment if even simply to learn of the possibilities 🙏🏼👍🏼

@hilde45 ...Thanks, I've bookmarked that talk....👍

Acoustic environments are complicated....large or small, the large ones done in the past are fraught with 'good ideas' that ultimately didn't pan out, then subjected to 'tweaks' and measures that 'worked' but spoiled the 'intended concept' of a space and its' attempt at a beautiful yet practical environment.

One can wonder if an AI aimed at the task of 'taming this sort of beast' would be able to cope with the conundrum....?

Or would it just get pissed and retaliate....*L*
