Did I Get the Wrong Intel NUC?

I wanted to try my hand at using a NUC to load Roon’s ROCK. I watched a few videos and picked up a NUC 11PAHi7 with 16GB of RAM and 500GB of SSD, since it was on sale.

But, upon further research, it looks like I picked the wrong one as this unit doesn’t have a M.2 SSD and it also comes with Windows. I was planning on using this NUC for Roon, only.

So before I return it and get a bareboned NUC with the proper SSD, wanted to ask the folks here if that’s the right call. I won’t put anything on the internal SSD, as my music is stored on an external drive attached via USB.

What do you suggest?

Thank you.

Google. Roon has a list of NUCs approved for use with ROCK. If you hope to get ANY support from Roon, you will use one of those models.

Go to Audiophile Style and search their forums computers/servers/Roon- there is a lot of information available there as well.

Thanks, all.

I’ve checked over at the Roon forums and most everyone says the ROCK OS needs to go on an M.2 SSD so I ordered one.
