Andover Spindeck is really good

Bought one after reading Fremer’s review and coincidentally I wanted to try a Transimpedence phonostage out.

after a week, the Sutherland 20/20 with LPS has yet to go back into service.

Audibly, the biggest difference is a more lively, energetic sound vs the 20/20 which is very even tempered. I think the Andover has a slight bump in the presence region but not sure. Seems that way.

Anyway, for $250 it’s singing with my at33ptg/ii (10 ohm).I’ll put the 20/20 back in to compare but this thing is so much fun. Perhaps a LPS or good SMPS is in order.

I have one coming on Monday.  I'm going to put it up against my PS Audio Stellar Phono, the Hegel V10, and a Graham Slee Accession MC.  If you buy it direct and let them add you to their mailing list it is only $225 with a 60 day trial period!

I've been listening to the Spinstage for two evenings now and it really is very good.  There are some differences between all the phono stages I have right now and I would be hard pressed to choose a favorite but the Spinstage is certainly holding its own against the PS Audio Stellar and the Hegel V10.  The Spinstage has a lively dynamic sound with excellent bass and good treble details.  It has a very good soundstage and excellent separation.  It might be less nuanced than the Stellar but it appears to be more dynamic.  It pairs really well with the Koetsu Black cartridge.  It doesn't have that flat veiled quality I typically associate with cheap phono stages.  My first impressions are very positive.

I've posted some needledrops over on Steve Hoffman.  I'm not sure if I'm allowed to link to them but I'll try.

@pinwa  100% agree. Nuance is the only thing I fee it lacks.

our experiences are the same. It’s really good.
