Weird Luxman/Exposure remote interactions

Not sure where to post this question, but since the new Luxman integrated appears to be the culprit, I will post here.

I just bought a new Luxman integrated amp. I use an Exposure 3010s2 CD player. The Luxman remote messes with the Exposure CD player. When I press the up volume the player backs up one song. When I change to a different input the player goes into Program mode. There is no logic as to what button does what, and I am not using the CD player buttons on the Luxman remote. The Exposure remote has no ill effects on the Luxman operation. Anyone have any ideas? I checked with the Luxman dealer but he had not run across this before. I have not contacted luxman or Exposure yet, but thought I would ask here. It is not a major deal, but it sure is frustrating.

competing (or more accurately stated... common) remote control frequencies on various remotes controlling different functions... it can be a pain for sure

I had a similar experience with remotes from Aesthetix preamp and Linn CD player

I contacted Luxman. Here is their response and explanation:

IR remote control works by sending out a certain amount of infrared light that symbolizes certain binary codes.  It is possible (and often does occur) that certain sequences are close enough to others so as to cause misinterpretation by adjacent IR receivers.  While not exactly the same, imagine that the code for something was 2222 and the adjacent device was looking for 222... it is possible for the second device to interpret the first three 2's of the first code as its' own 222 code.  There would be no way to keep this from happening, except by covering up one of the receivers.  We see this from time to time, usually with older units (>10 years old) placed near other newer units.

It makes sense....I am not sure using a universal remote would prevent this from happening.
