Innuos Zen MK3 won’t transcode DSD to FLAC

Recently got the Zen mk3 and using a Sonnet Morpheus DAC that doesn’t do DSD, so I selected that open in Sense so it would convert DSD to flac on the fly. Well it “plays” you can see the timeline go, but no sound. I turned on Roon Core Experimental with squeeze lite as endpoint and Roon plays/converts DSD fine.

anyone else experience this issue or could test?

Go into the Innuos sense software and click settings and then advanced. Check the box to limit signal to 96khz.

Sorry for the delay - a weekend full of meetings.  A guy whom I regard as being knowledgeable writes:

Tell him to go to system, audio, then select his Zen mk3 and finally select No DSD Support. It should then play DSD files as FLAC files. Good luck
Works with my Zen Mk3
Also once he has made the changes to No DSD Support might be helpful to close the Sense app and restart it

Another guy in the know writes that if this doesn't work, do as McRoth suggests.  Let me know where you are with this.  Have you heard from support yet?

Thanks fellas.
1. Changing to 96khz doesn’t work
2. I had originally selected “No DSD support” since my DAC doesn’t support DSD

i got a reply back from Innuos tonight.
“the file is not regular PCM but rather floating-point encoded instead. This, unfortunately, is not supported by our system.”

But the point is somewhat moot now because I recently got a Denafrips Hermes DDC which Innuos now feeds, the Hermes feeds my DAC via i2S. That setup converts the DSD and plays them fine as well. So I guess I’m done trying to figuring it out fully since things work as needed with the DDC in the chain now. Weird.

thanks for the help posting to the fb group @label19

My pleasure.  Floating point encoded pcm is new to me.  Must be pretty rare.

Glad you’ve got a solution.
