Electrostatic speakers

I picked up a pair of Electrostatic Research Vista by Sunrise Audio;. Hooked them up to test them and both work. One sounds significantly louder them the other with balance set evenly. Does anyone have any ideas as to why? I am running them with a pioneer receiver just to test them. They are at my office have not brought them home yet. I plan the run them with two NAD 2200 amps, biamped.
thanks

Did you try the obvious and switch channels to make sure it's not the receiver?

Not unusual as electrostats age and one panel degrades more than the other.

I couldn’t find any information on these from an, admittedly short, Google search.

Do they have bias adjustment? Check the back of the speaker for some sort of pot that is adjustable.

i did try to switch the channels. it made no difference. I've checked the fuses also. funny thing. i did not think the woofer were powered, but the on/off switch dose not seem to make a difference in sound on ether speaker. i was going to try swooping the panel next. When you say they degrade is it the coating on the firm/membrane? i wouldn't think the transformer in these would degrade.

thanks
