Where to get MHDT Orchid modfications?

Anyone know where to get upgrades? What modfications make the most difference?

ken7 Details Discussions Posts This discussion Message User 50 posts 04-03-2022 at 08:08pm Copy Comment URL Report Comment Edit Delete I modified an MHDT Orchid by replacing the cheap 1541 chip with an S1 Philips chip(about $120), replacing the 2 large 2 uF caps with much better quality caps and replacing the tube with a NOS RCA Command. There's some skill level involved in replacing the chip and also removing the old large caps and replacing them with even slightly bigger ones but well worth the efforts. If you Google MHDT Orchid modifications you can see what others have done. After all is said and done, I would not trade this modified Orchid for something costing many more dollars.
