Whats on your turntable tonight?

For me its the first or very early LP's of:
Allman Brothers - "Allman Joys" "Idyllwild South"
Santana - "Santana" 200 g reissue
Emerson Lake and Palmer - "Emerson Lake and Palmer"
and,
Beethoven - "Piano Concerto No. 4 in G Major" Rudolph Serkin/Ozawa/BSO
slipknot1

Just arrived a few minutes ago. I’m planning to replace all my Beatles collection with newer releases, primarily because my original releases are in such poor shape. The first replacement was because this LP had the most damage on one side, because of my carelessness with a cigarette while flipping and chatting during playing it a long long time ago. So, really, I haven’t really played my original copy at all.

The Beatles - Magical Mystery Tour. Capitol reissue/remaster 180g. The remaster was from 2009 (digital), this, I believe this was released in 2012, but confusing. It closely aligns with a US release at the time, but the shrink was stamped ‘made in Germany’. I cannot find a Discog release that really matches it. Originally 1967.

@slaw

Jazz is sounding especially good on the Grados.

I just got a pair of Grado 325’s Steve. Surprisingly good. Nothing close to speakers, but better than the Sennheiser they replaced.

I’m just not a headphone guy, but, thinking way ahead when I could be forced out of my home for potential health reasons (yes, I’m seeing it in my 87 yo mother as you are). So, checking out whether the Grado sound may be acceptable for that use in an apartment, should it ever come to that. Purchased an inexpensive tube Bellari headphone amp, which is pretty good for the cost. Replaced the crappy stock tube with an EI Smooth plate 12AX7 tube, manufactured with Telefunken machinery. A nice tube actually compared to other I have, including my old Tele smooth plates.
