MUSICAL FIDELITY A5 CD PLAYER PROBLEM

ACCIDENTLY A DVD WAS INSERTED INTO MY A5,FOR OVER 20 MINUTES THE PLAYER DISPLAYS "READING" THE PROBLEM IS THAT NOW IT WILL NOT STOP OR OPEN TO EJECT THE DISC. I TRIED TO UNPLUG IT, PLUG IT BACK IN, TURNING THE POWER BACK ON AND IMMEDIATELY PUSHING THE OPEN BUTTON BUT IT GOES DIRECTLY INTO "READING" STILL. BESIDES TAKING IT IN FOR SERVICE DOES ANY ONE HAVE ANY OTHER IDEAS??

It is POSSIBLE that if you unplug it and pop the top, you can gently pull/push open the drawer and remove the disk.
dont do that, you WILL void the warantee! and it is not worth the risk or damage to gently force the tray open which would work but...Not on a unit you own.
Call Signal Path, maybe they can help you without having to send it in for service.
Thats right - call the manufacturer ... There might be a button combo when pressed while powering up that will automatically eject what ever is inside before it tries to read the disc TOC.

I would think this would be a fairly common problem - God knows I've done it.
