Repair for a Hegel?

The volume shoots up on it's (Hegel H200) own, and if I don't hit the mute within a second my speakers would be blown. I contacted Hegel and they said their authorized dealer has changed and they referred me to a place where the reviews were pretty spotty.  I know it's a long shot, but thought I would ask for feedback anyway. Thanks

might just be a problem with the remote

george meyer av in LA is the service center for Hegel now - they are very good

i believe pyramid audio in austin texas was the former one... they are very good too... your h200 is old, out of warranty, you will be paying out of pocket to fix... so either one will be fine to handle the repair they are certainly competent
Thanks for the information.  Hegel told me that that Pyramid Audio is their present service suggestion.  That's great that you have heard positive things about them.
At first the problem was just the remote, and then it happened when I was not operating the remote. The volume shot up in a truly frightening way. Thanks for your feedback.
@dharmaman
I had a Hegel H20 amp repaired under warranty by Pyramid Audio in Austin TX about 8 months ago. I am very happy with the repair and the service. The Hegel factory requires the selling dealer to set up the repair. I shipped the amp directly to Pyramid and it was returned directly to me but my dealer willingly made all of the arrangements. IIRC, one of the circuit boards was replaced. I'm in NJ and my dealer was in PA.

Take the battery out of your remote, then operate the volume by touch, see if it happens again. If it does, problem with the unit, if not, might be time for a new remote...
