Active stand mount loudspeakers

In full disclosure, we manufacture active, DSP controlled non powered stand mount speakers.

The active crossover category include both analog and DSP. I believe the general trend is either fully passive stand mounts or DSP active and powered. Non-powered active stand mounts are probably a rare bird. We offer our active stand mounts so that people can use amps they already have or choose amps they like. A little bit of a risky move on our part but good DSP makes it easy.

wouldn't it make sense to also sell powered dsp speakers alongside or at least optional. 

Agreed. We do build our own line of power amps and a line-stage for people who want a single brand solution. We are also well into the development of a four channel power amp specifically designed to be used with our DSP controlled speakers. It should be available second quarter of 2020. The four channel amp will allow us to make available in-home auditions.

If you’re going active, why not go with speakers that are powered?  My only thought for what you’re asking for is Linn, but for self-amplified active speakers I’d choose ATC over Linn 7 days a week and twice on Sunday.  Maybe that’s just me.
