Tekton Double Impacts

Anybody out there heard these??

I have dedicated audio room 14.5x20.5x9 ft.  Currently have Marantz Reference CD/Intergrated paired to Magnepan 1.7's with REL T-7 subs.  For the vast majority of music I love this system.  The only nit pick is that it is lacking/limited in covering say below 35 hz or so.  For the first time actually buzzed the panel with an organ sacd. Bummer.  Thought of upgrading subs to rythmicks but then I will need to high pass the 1.7's.  Really don't want to deal with that approach.

Enter the Double Impacts.  Many interesting things here.  Would certainly have a different set of strengths here.  Dynamics, claimed bottom octave coverage in one package, suspect a good match to current electronics.

I've read all the threads here so we do not need to rehash that.  Just wondering if others out there have FIRST HAND experience with these or other Tekton speakers

Thanks.

Could the slight change in “liveliness” be explained by the claimed 3 dB efficiency difference?

I had a set of Electrons not the DIs, but feel the information would still be valid. The ones I got were B stock on the specials page and were advertised as with grills.

Question 1: No grills came with the speakers even though they were advertised with them. The speakers had holes for the grill pegs. I called and asked about the grills and was told they still need to be made.

Question 2: As mentioned above, they were B stock and there were a couple of defects in the paint. Even given that, I found the finish just ok, but not a deal breaker.

Question 3: See answer to question 1. The grills never did arrive in the month that I had the speakers.

I ended up returning the speakers, but it was not because of the above. While I found them good, the decision to return them was based on performance. Tekton did make good on their return policy, which is a good thing. I appreciated the ability to test them in my home.
I have owned three pairs of Tektons: the Double Impacts, the SEs, and now the Encores. In all three cases, the finish was just fine. I am particularly fond of the Encores done in Spanish Tile soft gloss. Some say the Tektons are ugly, but I think these look very nice in my living room. For what it is worth, so does my wife. And the sound...wow. I fully expect that this will be my last pair of speakers.

I did not order the grills.
