cartridge setup help

Was wondering if anyone near Las Vegas with cartridge setup experience? I purchased a used AT150MLX for my friend, but we can't seem to get a firm screw connection in the open channel. Would be willing to pay for help.

I live in Henderson,  I use a AT150MLX and I have a bit of experience.  Email me at allan.walter@yahoo.com and I'll shoot you my phone number.  Also I don't want your money, It's the season of giving!

The problem description is not clear. What do you mean with

''the screw connection in the open channel'' ? ''Open channel''

make no sense by whatever cart. There is left and right channel

by any stereo cart but not ''open channel''.

vegasears, thank you so much. I passed on your info to my friend.
Nandric, I think i mean it is a non threaded cartridge body. If you look at a pic online it looks like an open channel for the screws. BTW, he was using a Clearaudio Virtuoso that I had purchased from you years ago. We were playing an old Elvis 45, and the needle went flying and snapped off the whole cantilever.

autjenof2, If I understand your description well one side of the

body misses the screw hole or provision to fasten this side

of the cart? With an ''hand bit'' you can drill in plastic body.

If I understand your second sentence well your friend damaged

''our'' Virtuoso (aka ''my former'' and ''your later'') ?

As a kind of compensation you can get an second Clearadio from

me for a ''friend price''. The name is ''Aurum classics'' with perfect

stylus.

Is that a problem to buy a set of none magnetic screws and nuts on ebay just to screw it up firmly on the headshell ? Yamamoto sells sets of screws for any cartridges. Or with a set of these special screw you don’t even need a tool to use it and they are also available on ebay. With the right size it shouldn’t be a problem.

But first you have to remove the stylus on those AT cartridges, then screw it up firmly, after that you can add the stylus assembly back to the cart.
