"Anyone able to summarize the main pros/cons of Tekton Lore vs. Zu omen def?"

Good question! I'd like to see this as well.
The Tektons sound like an excellent value and a great option in the right room.

Stereophile did a review of some larger Zus that I found interesting. They liked the sound and performance but the measurements were found somewhat lacking. That does not surprise me I suppose. I cannot conceive how a single full range conventional driver can deliver smooth response top to bottom. I can imagine how the lack of crossover and coherency theough most of the audible spectrum could make that a moot point for many though.
How do Omen and Lore hold up with large scale classical recordings at higher volumes or say louder pop/electronic type music? Do the wide range drivers used keep their composure or show signs of strain?
I heard Zu for first time recently at Capital Audiofest.

I heard the Essence speakers. I thought these to be promising but appeared to be run off an underpowered amp at the show which limited what they could do. The demo seemed more about how few watts could be used rather than optimizing what the Zu's could do, even in a relatively small hotel room used for the demo. Will have to hear again with a better setup.
The only inherent limitation with an efficient speaker the size of Lore is probably low end extension/flatness.

A sub or two could fix that if needed.

I wouldn't worry about the cost ratio between speakers and the rest at all if things are sounding good.

Its when the room is very large and/or teh low end extension is limited and or the system cannot play loud enough without compression or amp clipping that an additional investment is most likely required.

If bigger, deeper, louder is not a concern, then you have a fantastic chance of getting things to shine their best with a smaller investment in speakers.
