LoL!, I haven't had a cheap cable in 25 years!, this is a debate that is on coming from those who have not had the privilege to listen to world class cable's!, once they do, the audio nerveversa kicks in, then you will know cable's are a component! |
Has nothing to do with cost! , if my cable's cost $19.00 I would be thrilled, sadly in the real world, you get what you pay for! ,lol |
|
Tonykay, that would be nice if I did, unfortunately I do not, however, I can certainly hear a difference between every model, no matter the cost. |
Mmm,seems like the community is coming to an agreement here. |
Lol!, I don't live in a trailer or push a mower for a living, wow!, that's some crazy post there, mmm, as a matter of fact, those that said that, lol!, don't even know me, much less, talked to me on the phone. |
Hi mikelavigne, great post!, thankyou for your honesty, I have the Taralabs zero gold and omega gold, and Cobalt power cord, 3rd cable down from yours, excellent cable's, I'm happy with them, however, I soon may be taking the plunge into the Evolution cables my self! , might listen to the new sp Evolution line that just got introduced, cheers. |
Taters, what you said may imply to most brands of cable's, not taralabs!,I tell you what, let's get in touch with each other and allow me to expose new insight with your beliefs of some cables, are you game? , email me, happy listening. |
+1 agreement with Aintitgr8's last post. |
Bravo! , we'll said Mike, I've done experiment's with taralabs cable's since the introduction of earlier ground station's of the mid 1990s, you can pm me and I share a few with you, also, at one time, I had the Taralabs, the one with two mono blocks grounding station and one stereo grounding station, all on the same interconnect! , talking about low noise floor that was not supposed to be heard on this model interconnect. |
Devilboy, when you get to the caliber of cable's that are state of the art, they are a component, a tool that is used to extract everything possible from the components to the speaker's. |
Yeah,I believe 91 and less sensitivity is lousy!, for what we pay for speaker's these days, you would think they would fix this problem that has never been addressed, to me, it's a lousy designer to have 87 sensitivity to get 24htz!, on the flip side of it, an incredible designer to get 24htz and have 96 or higher sensitivity. |
Once you acknowledge that cables can affect the perception of recorded sound, one has to decide what a significant difference is worth. To my ears, in my system, cables that have improved the quality of reproduced sound to the degree audiophiles associate with upgrading active components and speakers, to me, just like having high quality components and speakers, alot of money is not considered an unusual investment for cable's that achieve this. |
Sorry mikelavigne, I assumed you had Grandmaster speaker cable's, since you have Grandmaster Interconnect's, that is odd not to have a full loom of these cable's, man-o-man are you missing alot of performance, I run a full loom. |
Mikelavigne, you should pm me concerning the Taralabs Grandmaster speaker cable's. |
My system has $24,000.00 8ft speaker cable's, Mikelavigne's Grandmaster original model speaker cable's retail for 42,000.00 8ft, his system may be better for such cable's, however, it was worth the price of admission for me, I bet it was for mikelavigne, ask him, chances are, he is happy with his decision, enjoy the music. |
Hi zephyr24069, your last post was very good, +1,I agree with you,we'll said. |
To be very clear hear, Michael had a wide band amplifier, taralabs did not have to rework the Grandmaster interconnect at all, rather, the speaker cable, it is called the Grandmaster sp speaker cable's, yes, the sp cost $3,000.000 more, it's a higher inductance speaker cable to give a wide band amplifier rich lucrative sound, and as I recall, Michael has the Omega Evolution speaker cable's, not the Grandmaster, however, both models have sp version's, happy listening. |
Hi mikelavigne, did you know Dan D'Agostino invented the cable interface you have?, Dan did this when he was still with krell back in the late 90's, it is called krell cast, my amp has the same interface as your equipment does, I do agree that it is quite good, and that cable length don't matter, however, even this did not beat out the entire taralabs loom I use, the Zero interconnect was entirely in another league over the cable interface system, cheers. |
4orreal, mmm, you missed the part of Mikelavigne's post that said he liked the Taralabs Grandmaster interconnect better than the cable interface he mentioned, also, taralabs makes a cable for any given system in the world, they have the new rich sounding Grandmaster Evolution SP speaker cable's, and Evolution omega sp speaker cable's for wide band width speakers and amplifiers, also they have ism on board interconnect cable's to suit particular systems that require a warmer sound to rid brightness that some systems have, and I will add they also have the new cx omega speaker cable's that are one lead for each speaker instead of two for each channel, that said, prove to me you own or listened to a better cable than taralabs?, I'm open minded to anything, a better cable for me has not happened in 25 years! |
Oh boy, the two clowns just showed up, lol!, neither of you have anything worth adding to this thread that is revalant!, especially about any of my post, really? ,lol! |
Hi zephyr24069, go to taralabs thread, have questions there for you, cheers. |
I will also add, I have taralabs omega 12" jumper cable's on the jbl bi-amp L7 speaker's that is far beyond the brass stock plate that completed the circuit for single speaker cable's, that addition was incredible! |
+1 with agreement with referenceaudiomn. |
The best way for this for this thread to go away is not participating, a audio builder will try anything that has his interest, sure, some are decision failure's,, some are are satisfactory, and of course, there is the wow factor, that said, the real perspective is that the general public think's an audiophile is obsessive, wasteful of money, down right crazy for the amount of money north of $1,000.00 for an entire system, this thread has no constructive learning, although I am certainly a believer of good cable's can work to benefit a system, my reason for this post is to persuade respectable audiogon member's that this thread is like discussing politic's, a never ending debate that by the end of the day, accomplished nothing.

Hi calvinj, good to see you, Dave Baskin's wife has his cable's for sale here on audiogon, yes! , they are the taralab's Evolution Grandmaster sp speaker cable's, funny though, she put gmev, abbreviation's for Grandmaster, however, she got the ev incorrect, supposed to be sp, that is even more high end and cost more than the standard taralab's Evolution Grandmaster speaker cable's, I believe she is going to liquidate his whole system, is the store still open for business? |
