Hi all, nowadays some indie music no longer seem to sound like its name as they could go onstream. I don’t have any problem with this, just saying. I’ll still support the artists I like no matter what. So, who has the same taste in music as me?
I listen to a lot of music, 90% of which is indie rock or folk. I like the creativity of musicians when they are not necessarily trying to make a hit record and are given the freedom to do that.
Indie never was a separate genre although people tended to use it that way. Just like indie film, it was simply meant to differentiate those albums from major label releases.
I don't know that indie exists as a separate genre today, kind of morphed into many sub-genres. I stream almost exclusively and discover new artists everyday which leads into more new artists, I can't even tell you what genre much of the music falls into. We have so much blending of genres, becomes sub-genre of sub-genre, etc.
