Who Makes Class AB, DC design

I'm looking for amps, preferably mono, that would pair well with Magnapan 3.6R. Based on what I understand to be a good match, they would be AB with lots of current. I do not have a deep understanding of audio engineering but assume that is correct. I would appreciate any recommendations as to models that meet these design criteria and are available on the used market as I feel you can get so much more bang for the buck used. I realize that my question is a bit open but don't want to rule out any good possibility.

Thanks for any help.

Here's a TRUE giant killer: Spread Spectrum Technology Ampzilla 2000 Mono's! The last and final design by the great designer James Bongiorno. I'd put these up against ANY $20K - 100K amps!  Read the review in Sensible Sound!
You don't need an AB design; class A amps drive Maggies just fine although they make more heat. Class D can do the job too and in all cases I recommend audition.

You also don't need a 'high current' amp- what you need is an amp that can make enough power so that you don't clip the amp.

Let's say that you sorted out that 200 watts is enough power. The speaker is 4 ohms, so if we do the math (using the Power formula) we see that

200watts = 4ohms x current (squared)

Solving for current we get slightly over 7 amps. That's nowhere near the 'high current' category. In fact many tube amps can do that.

You can't have current without voltage, and the two multiplied together is the wattage that is being made. IOW if its 200 watts that is doing the job, the current will be the same regardless of what amp is making it.

Thanks for the replys, especially atmasphere whose explanation was very informative for a neophite. I had used a set of Sonic Frontier 150s in the past but too much heat for the room. But I certainly loved the tube sound since I primarily listen to jazz and female vocals. Since I am using an AR SP20 preamp I looked to AR and decided to try a pair of the DS450 monos. Class D thecnology offers many benifits and I am reading that AR has taken the sound quality to a new level. Hopefully these will mate up nicely with my pre and the Maggies. Thanks Again All.
